Default Football HOF RC Collectors

Is anyone else a HOF RC collector? I am trying to organize all my collections on Flickr. I am following the PSA registry, but I don't solely collect PSA cards. I have other RC's, but having a checklist is making things easier for me. I am actually "slabbing" my own cards in Zion cases. I don't need to spend $20 plus for a 2007 Topps Chrome Joe Thomas.

I am at 76/303 right now and I have more that I will update and put in my own cases. Some cards I will never be able to get, but I am trying to reign in my chaotic collecting! Has anyone completed the checklist here?

I am not currently collecting that, but it seems like a great idea! You'll hopefully finish it eventually and ALWAYS have a new players to collect. The Nagurski will be pretty tough!
If you're looking for any HOF RC's from the 55 All-American set, let me know. I have some laying around.
Are you stopping at a certain HOF year/class?

I collect HOF Rcs. For Football, I am over 150. I don't follow PSA's list, so some of mine might not be the "official" ones. For 1998 Manning/Moss. I have Bowman Chrome for example and not SPx or whatever. I go with the the brand I like more. Mine are almost exclusively in SGC slabs.

Edit to add: Closing in on 200 it looks like, some need to be upgraded though.

I think I will work on chunks with this project. With baseball I completed the 70's and started to move back to the 60's. I think I will do the same thing with football. Anything after the 1980's starts to get confusing for RC's for most sports. In football the USFL cards, basketball with Star, and baseball which set? The 70's only has a few big cards and nothing too expensive. One card that may be the highest is the 1972 Topps Rayfield Wright which is a high number.

I have a bunch that aren't on the list like a Topps Chrome Randy Moss. Some of the parallels I don't think I will pay attention to. If I can find a white refractor /869 for a decent price for 2007 Topps Chrome, I will go after that instead of the base.

I collect football HOF as well. I do follow the PSA registry and have focused on trying to get all of the 1970s and newer HOFers (guys I watched play). Have opportunistically picked up cards from the 1950s and 1960s along the way as well though as time passed. I am just over 200 of cards from the set now.

I'm a player collector and just collect players I like/respect, and some of these are hall of fame rookie cards.

Here are a few randoms from my collection:

I tend to gravitate toward nicely higher grade cards that I can afford that have nice eye appeal.

SGC for vintage, and PSA for anything after 1981 or so.

Good luck on your quest! I was around 35% of the way through the PSA registry list but decided to bail as I decided that I wasn't interested enough in some of the modern cards to spend what was needed to ever complete the set - especially if as expected you end up needing an SP Authentic Brady. I ended up selling everything, occasionally I regret not just switching to the vintage set but that only goes to 1970 and misses out on a lot of my favourite cards from the 1980s.

I'm doing something similar with baseball. Collecting all the ROY RCs. Right now I'm picking up a lot of the low hanging fruit and I know some I just won't be able to afford. But like you I'm trying to reign in my collecting habit from everything to smaller collections!

So I was sick of using Flickr for my collection organization. I decided to buy a 1 year subscription to Card Ladder. I was going to buy a 1 year subscription to Flickr, but for a little more money it does more for me as a collector. You can't sort the images, but you can view them in a showcase. I did my Basketball and Football HOF Rookies that mimic the PSA registry so far. Going to do baseball and hockey next before general vintage.

Wow love the Warner.
I collect signed primarily HOF (and star) RC’s in football.

Give us a review if you could. Does Card Ladder have enough of cards in the database, interface good, pricing history, etc..

For vintage, it doesn't have a lot of cards in the database. I don't really care about tracking prices, but just having my collections stored online. It is really easy to add PSA/SGC to your collection, just type in the Cert Number. They added CGC recently, but you need to upload the images. I hope they change this soon.

If you have a PSA subscription, it is well worth the extra $50 to upgrade to premium and get it for free.

It does what I need it to do and it gives me easy access to my collection on my PC and phone. It is easy to compare images for what I have and see if a card is an upgrade or what I don't have. Once my collection got over 1000 graded slabs, it was hard to keep track of.

Ok thank you, I put most of my stuff into VCP. They only have auto add for PSA cards. I don't have a PSA sub and don't plan to so I guess that is another strike.

I still have more overall collection and want lists in a sprawling excel spreadsheet. Obviously that doesn't have pretty images. Neither does VCP.
