You're 100% correct. You should get what you paid for.

Went to the wrestling trade night downstairs. While I thought looking at the video on Tuesday about the trade night I would be ready for it and definitely didn't grasp the size of it. And frankly wasn't big enough. Still had the problem of people doing trades in the middle of the room. Like the usual issue with the I-X center, the amenities were very limited. Our trade section was in the corner next to the VIP Gold pass room next to Ludex and the regular concession stand was way on the other side. Apparently Ludex was being generous with the gold wrist band though to get into the bar area with better food options.

I don't know if the allocation was based on what the promoter told people would show or what is determined by the National people. The wrestling trade night had room for about 4 tables and very little else. Last night when we had a conference room in Chicago, it was probably double the size. But I guess I shouldn't complain because at least we weren't the "women of the hobby" part of the trade night that was literally ONE TABLE. That was emptied up about an hour later and replaced with other people who weren't close to the "designated" sports. that happened a bit frankly. People in the football section promoting baseball cards. I guess at that point people just wanted to find a table.

The story I heard waiting in line outside on Friday really kind of tells me how I don't think the I-X Center didn't grasp how big this event was going to be. Apparently there was a limit to the number of people who could go to trade night. I think the number was 3200 but may have been more. On Thursday, the staff was telling people outside that the limit was hit and it wasn't even close. Even telling people to not even try to get in and then letting them in a couple minutes later.

Well I assume that CardsHQ building is still open because I thought I saw some break stuff from them. If so, somebody must not have went to the bank that day.

Or they did and well

Ran out or stopped for the day? I happened to be walking right by the DA (hit parade) buying station on Wednesday evening when they just suddenly told everyone who was lined up that the person either at the table or next in line was the last one for the day.

There was some serious cash changing hands in that room the 2 days I was there.

Not sure. The guy was dispersing people trying to get on line and saying they ran out of money. Didn't hang around to hear the rest of the conversation!

What’s the deal with people bringing dogs to the show? I saw at least a half dozen women with their little 20 pound dogs running around, how is that allowed in a convention center? (PS- I don’t hate dogs, i love dogs, I own one myself, but I’d never take him in a show with ten thousand people)

LOL! I just thought it was very odd to do what I saw (and heard) happen - same situation as what you observed. Why would you stop looking, at the very least? You've got absolutely no idea what someone may walk up with. I'd much rather tell nearly everyone no thanks for most of the next couple hours than possibly miss out on something huge and only have the problem of having to send them payment electronically instead of cash.

I didn't see one dog (except for a security-looking guy). Maybe I was in the wrong places! lol

Going to the National tomorrow and have a few quick questions:

1. If I bought a general admission pass online, do I have to wait in the general admission line or is there something shorter for those who already purchased?

2. I’m trying to decide if I’m going to arrive at 9:30 am or 11:30 am. Any reason either would be worse for getting into the lot? I keep hearing horror stories - I dropped some submissions off on Tuesday when it was only dealers there and went in the east entrance easy via Waze. Sounds like that isn’t the way to go now?

I apologize if these are stupid questions, just worried about the crowd and limiting my time lost as I have a long day on the road.

Thanks sincerely if anyone can answer.

You will still need to wait in the GA line to get a wristband.

If you go at 11:30 there will be less line to get in. So the question is whether that 2 hour loss of time is worth it. The GA line moves fast, so it's not really a big deal.

Yes, there will likely be a 15-30 wait in traffic if you try to get in the east entrance from the east. However, even if you come from that way, just go south one block to Sheldon road. Head west until it dead ends. Turn right, until that road dead ends into Aerospace. Trun right on that which will take you the back way to the west entrance. There will literally be zero wait and zero traffic to fight if you go that way, regardless of whether you go at 9:30 or 11:30.

I just don’t understand how few people figured this out, I went two days this way and zero wait in and out, free parking, just had to walk around the building and you were all set. I saw hardly anyone when I turned onto aerospace each day.

It was definitely nice! Zero traffic! Not sure why they didn’t open the west doors though…could’ve just held general admission in that section instead of the smaller area they’re doing it in.

You don't even have to walk around the building. Go in the west entrance and drive north. The west lot connects to the north lot and around the building to the east. I came in the west gate every day and never once parked in the west lot. There were always plenty of spots in the north lot.

I could be wrong, but I thought they leased the whole west side of the building out commercially now. So the west entrance isn't available for the half of the building the national is in.

With it being Sunday, it'll be interesting to see how many dealers start packing up early...

I know that is "shunned upon", but I doubt it's gonna stop them from trying to get outta there a little early if the crowd is "light"....

And I heard Geoff Wilson had to call his wife and ask her for more monies (she's the actual successful one of the relationship), his PPP loans ran out
