Default 1943 Redskins Autograph Book

I wasn't sure which forum to post this in. Apologies if this doesn't belong here. Just curious what you would do with this item. Keep it? Sell it? If you'd keep it, how would you store/preserve it? If you'd sell it, how would you go about selling it? Posting pics of some of the autos. Names I see:

Bob Masterson
Sid Carroll
Ted Lapka
Joe Aguirre
George Smith
Jack Smith
Dick Farman
Frank Seno
Turk Edwards (HOFer)
Bob Seymour
Sammy Baugh (HOFer)
Steve Slivinski
Joe Gibson
Andy Farkas
Lou Rymkus
Al Piasecky
Leo Stasica
Clyde Shugart
Joe Pasqua
Red Conkwright
Hen Hayden (?)
Frank Akins

Really cool find. For being over 80 years old, it's in darn good shape!

I'm not sure if I'm telling you anything you don't already know, but I'd say only about four of these signatures have any kind of collectability -- and the Turk Edwards is worth more than, probably, everything else combined. If it wasn't for him, I'd say you're best to leave everything intact and sell/keep it altogether.

IMO, if you're looking to appeal to the most collectors, he changes that.

Edwards died about 50 years ago, so his stuff doesn't come up very often. Best I could find for comparing value was a 2006 auction, where a signed off-white postcard from 1946 sold for $221. (Others might have more luck than me.) One person on eBay is asking for $500 OBO for a similar sig. And PSA lists the value, for auto'd index cards, at $200.

The other signatures worth bringing up are Sammy Baugh, Andy Farkas and Clyde Shugart. Assuming the sigs are in decent shape and/or have their own page, Farkas would sell for $10-$15 and Shugart a little less. Baugh is a big name but, because his supply far exceeds Edwards, I think you'd be lucky to get $25. (Two unauthenticated hand-signed cards sold earlier this month for <$20.) Plus, another signature is crowding Baugh's on the page you included.

Great info! Interesting stuff - thanks for sharing.
