Now you see why I’ve been a member since 2009 and don’t have 900 posts. It’s all good I really don’t care, I genuinely needed some advice on this one considering the potential value. I do appreciate everyone’s help. No one answered me about a prize for thread of the year lol

I pulled Michael Kopech’s bowman 1st Super auto and offered it to his dad for free. He appreciated the offer, but encouraged me to keep it, so I did.

Probably got a 9 due to surface issues. Looks like a scratch is visible unless it's on the case or a piece of lent or hair.

Wow that scan pops nice! I didn't realize from the OP (probably due to lighting in the picture) that the card's background was so colorful! Definitely adds to the eye appeal!

Ok dumb question now that I looked closer at the label - it says "2014 Bowman Mega Box" on the top line. I get that it came from a mega box, OP said that.

But are there black 1/1 refractors in regular 2024 Bowman?

If so, I get why they'd call out Mega Box.

But if regular 2024 Bowman doesn't have black 1/1 refractors, adding "Mega Box" to the title doesn't seem to add anything to the card, almost like they are going out of their way to point out that it came out of retail... ??

Probably because the background geometric pattern is what defines Mega Box.

This pattern is exclusive to the Mega Box. They are also commonly called “Mojo” Refractors.

It's not really the cost to me why I don't grade autos, but bc of the space you lose on the label when you get it, esp. when it's a prospect refractor auto.

So a little update, obviously you’ve all seen the card and that it’s graded a 9 which I’m cool with. I just got the invoice from PCS and PSA is charging me 888 bucks for grading lol. I hope they’re right with their estimate of value. I spoke to PCS earlier in the week and they expected the card to arrive tomorrow and told me they run 10 day auctions starting on Thursdays. I just requested it be consigned and I really wish it would get listed today but I’ll probably have to wait a whole week before it’s listed. Hopefully he has 2-3 more good starts before it’s sold and doesn’t get hurt. What if PSA is wrong with their evaluation on value? Will they reimburse me ��

If your referring to the bottom of the card to the right of center that’s either the case, lint, hair or something that happened after I sent because all my pictures before I shipped don’t show it

I’m starting to think I should have sold it raw and saved 888 bucks. I’m curious what they did differently to warrant an upcharge from like 170 to 888. I know insurance doesn’t cost 700 bucks. It’s actually starting to bother me which is hard to do.

Well hey at the graded $ value, doesnt PCS then have the grader’s notes, PSA’s new service? For $888 I’d like to be privy to that. But of course now that consigned and issued to PSA by PCS, perhaps only PCS allowed the details.

There looks like a scratch going down where I marked. You can see it if you click on the link to the higher resolution on the psa site. Or if could be on the case.
