With the start he's had since the trade, and being the Yankees, I can see Topps capitalizing on it.

So many players were moved, I'm curious to see which duplicate player we see first.

Doesn't make the list but Chourio is another solid PR Topps MLB® Living Set® Card #747 - Jackson Chourio - PR: 3764

Cool....I didn't know the print runs were posted yet. Thanks!

By the way, the current print run average for 2024 is 2764 per card.

Excluding the Wander Franco mega-anomaly from the mix, 2024 has the healthiest average print run in the last 5 years.

Print Run Averages
=============
2020 = 2397 PR
2021 = 2340 PR
2022 = 2280 PR (Excludes Wander Franco outlier)
2023 = 2124 PR
2024 = 2764 PR

Someone with better data tracking skills can double check me on that claim. Overall, I've been really pleased with Topps selections this year. It's been a blast seeing my lineups each month. (I hope Angel agrees with me. His amazing art is a large reason the average print run is as high as it is right now.)

I'm not sure if anyone else has watched the Pete Rose documentary? There have been some serious allegations against him over the years aside from betting on baseball. I'd be surprised if he ever gets a card with so much suspicion and questions about his character.

I'll be clear this isn't a Pete Rose is guilty or not guilty post. It's simply an observation. With so many different allegations against him and his character I'd be surprised if any card company would rush to align themselves with him at this point.

Super interesting facts. Glad to hear. Thanks Jared. The selection this year, along with the art, has been excellent. Long live the Living Set.

Topps produced some Pete Rose inserts for 2024 Bowman, so they have already "aligned" themselves with Rose. Rose is a baseball icon regardless of his personality defects so he should be in the set.

I hope not. There are plenty of great players who haven't been included in the set. Chisholm is barely above average.

Haha.

The Cubs Living Set cards this year have been the only enjoyment the team has brought me.

As for the Royals, what can I do to help you get Quisenberry in the set? I always enjoy seeing a player a collector has been beating the drum for. Maybe we can start a petition and send it to Topps.

Jared, can we get this man his Dan Quisenberry card?!

Fernando Valenzuela remains the only player to win Rookie of the Year and the Cy Young Award in the same year. With what Paul Skenes is doing this year Topps Living set could used some Fernando Mania !! It would be a big seller.

Maybe they'll wait and see if Skenes pulls that off after the awards are announced this fall and then do them as a pair in the same week? It would make for a fun pairing.

I think Topps should commit to the pairing regardless. I don’t expect them to wait until awards season to release a Skenes card.

Depends on what the license allows. Bowman is a prospect set with non union players, so they might be able to squeak him in. But a mainline set with major league players may be a no.

I wish Topps put a little more thought into the weekly pairings. Skenes/Fernando would be incredible. Jackson Holliday/Matt Holliday would be fun.

I'm surprised they haven't done more family pairings. I really enjoyed the week they did Craig & Cavan Biggio together. The Guerrero's, Bichette's, Rodriguez's and Alou's are the only other father/son combos I can think of off the top of my head that have both been released and none of them were paired. Griffey Jr already has his card so can't pair him if they release Sr. I guess they did both Yaz's together (a grandson/granddad combo).

I know it won't happen but it would be cool if they did a 4 card special week to have all 4 Boone's at once. I think they're still the only 3 generation family to have all members make at least one All-Star team.

This assumes Topps has different licenses for players in Topps and Bowman sets. I can't say that isn't true but it seems unlikely.

I too like the father/son or family cards and have all those mentioned paired in my little collection. I think this is a super idea and would be loads of fun in the set every once in a while.

Looking at the picture of the back of Sale's card it took me a minute to realize that was his signature. I thought it was weird he didn't have one and that instead somebody had circled three different items they wanted pointed out on the card lol.

The first few years of Topps Now, Sale had a lot of autographs issued with that same autograph...still better than most soccer players.
