Sorry guys, but marl1220, JRX, and oldgoldy97 have decided that 40/40 is no longer impressive or historic because the rules have been changed and it's now easier to accomplish.

I think it's impressive.

But I was told that since they changed the rules to encourage more stealing that no stolen bases feats for the next 10 years minimum could be considered impressive. Was also told that since this would be the second 40/40 season in two years that it should be considered commonplace now.

In 1988 Canseco had 42 HR and 40 SB. He led the league in HR and wasn't even top 10 in SB. The stolen base leader Henderson had way more SB than today's leader Elly. It is still a major accomplishment and should not be diminished. Ohtani will likely be #2 in HR and top 3 IN SB. That is a big deal.

At 128 games into the season (Ohtani’s 125th game) he’s about to become the fastest ever to reach 40/40 in a season (A. Soriano 147 games).

2018 TC 150 Orange Refractor /25

or a

2018 TCU HMT1 Red Refractor /25

Both pitching, both similar pop count. One is the original image, but the other is a popular red color, despite not /5.

Just curious.

I agree. While a red refractor looks better, I always look at his HMT1 stuff as his “secondary” rookie
