2024 Series 1: $159.99 pre order price
2024 Series 2: $179.99 pre order price
2024 Update: $194.99 pre order price

Slight increases over time is fine, but when it's this drastic this quickly, it's price gouging.

$45 more than last year's update, $35 more than Series 1 this year and $25 more than Series 2 this year. When do people hit a breaking point? That pun was intended because these prices are getting to a status where most will only be able to enter random teams group breaks soon.

Hobby at least is kind of staying stagnant but man...jumbo is ridiculous now.

That is what they are testing. As a business its hard to fault going up when secondary market is going up. They said that from the start, they wanted a bigger piece of the pie. Sucks for all of us on the front end, but the market demands what the market demands. Until they cross that barrier of the breaking point it will keep happening.

And before someone says "stop buying and they will have to come down", that isn't going to work. The market is too big. The peeps on blowout have very little money compared to what is actually moving around.

That’s not what most of these high rollers tell us.

Did you see the deal for a hobby box and a blaster for $109?

I ended up getting 2 of those. If you did 3 then you might as well just do a hobby box. But I figure my wife and I each get one to open.

I thought about a case but took a bath in it, depending on when my Gold Jasson sells will determine how I did.

I bought a case of Hobby after debating to get a case of Jumbo. My last jumbo boxes a good number of the cards had damage to the corners which was annoying.

In regards to the price, they are still less than any of the Panini Hobby boxes which are insanely expensive so I don't see them reducing prices anytime soon.

If only there was more than one company with the MLB license, but those days seem to be long gone.

If blasters are $25 you save about $3 dollars?

Yea, not much but still a little bit. Only makes sense with 1 or 2 orders vs more.

Looking at the odds have they always had Grocery Shippers or is that something new or just calling something by a different name ?

Also if you want Update you better grab it now because with Skenes mania and any potential surprised these are going to get scalped I mean jacked up on sites like BO and Sreel city.

Struggling to pay a premium for a product held up by a pitcher (any pitcher) and players with S2 SP cards that dilute the impact.

Agree, the Jackson parallels are a draw, and this is light years more attractive than 2023 Update. May just save my powder for Heritage (and hopefully Heritage mini) regardless.

2023 TCU was highlighted by Eury Perez, Grayson Rodriguez, Zach Neto and Matt McLain. Would you choose any of them over Skenes, Holliday, Merrill, Chourio and Langford?

I like how some people are pretending this isn't a loaded checklist for a Flagship product. Probably the same ones that said S2 looked awful and they couldn't wait for Update.

I gravitate to lower end volume rips which usually means flagship and/or heritage for me. I avoid the shiny stuff.

Over the many years of tracking Topps Traded/Rookies/Update, your mileage is going to vary from season to season so a loaded checklist that seems hot today is going to look much different in 2-3yrs. Based on the amount of training effort out of Skenes, he'd last much longer compared to Grayson Rodriguez. You need to look for pitchers that take the Robin Yount track, reduce injury risk and use a progressive warm up before the game

I've noticed between 2023 vs 2024, the insert card stock tends to create those corner damage and the most "mangled" cards came from "double insert" packs(Topps Chrome Stars of MLB and a double throwback insert combo). Lost a good Colton Cowser rookie card from that.

Topps isn't just isolated in this factory out of the box/case, early 2000s you'd see this kind of corner damage on Upper Deck as they used a similar double thickness and double insert cards ruined 2-3 surrounding cards.

Yeah I recall that in UD as well, I opened some not that long ago and the corner damage was there.

I don’t think high rollers are buying update.

Yes they are. The high rollers are the breakers. There will be large demand for Update breaks. This isn’t buying lambos. Breakers fractionalize costs and create a much larger demand from low rollers.

No breaks and no boxes of this for me. Simply not worth the money.

I don’t consider the breakers the high rollers as they aren’t the ones ultimately paying for the product, as you said, bought and paid by low rollers. I rest my case.
