Love that they have a Brock Purdy RC Kaboom on the sell sheet

To be fair, they've also got the RC designations on the mock-ups of Joe Burrow and Dak Prescott. Not that it makes it better ...

I know these are mock-ups. But I remember reading a thread that criticized Panini for misspelling Saquon Barkley's name on a mock-up in another set. How careless do you have to be to release stuff like this publicly?

You literally need to check three things:
1. Does the photo match the name and team?
2. Is the name spelled correctly?
3. Should there be a rookie designation or not?

This isn't a long checklist. And they still screw it up. It's incredible. Would love to get a peek behind the scenes there ...

Complaining about mocks is...funny. They could put "Football Player" and "Team Name" and it makes no difference because it's not a real card.

Meanwhile...

Complaining about the price is...also funny. They could put "$285 MSRP" and it makes no difference because it's not the real price.

If you're advertising or showcasing a product, you want to put your best foot forward. When Porsche offers an image of a concept car, it's not missing tires or putting the steering wheel on the wrong side.

I understand it's not a real card. But it speaks to incompetence, carelessness and a lack of attention to detail, which I believe is part of a bigger-picture problem with Panini.

Wow ... I don't know how I missed this. That's embarrassingly awful.

Desmond Ridder certainly did not breaktrhough.

A much better looking base set than whatever they chose to do last year

Now that XR has been buried, this is easily the worst release sans Kaboom.

I happen to like Kabooms contrary to most. These boxes however are a scam. They should do what basketball did and move them to a different set/kill Absolute. As the rest of the cards are worthless. Imagine Kaboom in Certified?

Panini is obsessed with gigantic borders. Dynamic football photos? Shrink 'em, we've gotta get more clip art on the borders

Let's also not forget 2021 Playoff Thunder and "Lighting"

I am pretty sure they do this on purpose to prevent unauthorized use of their card images

You need all that real estate so we can clearly tell which of the 50 parallels we have, especially now that they are using emojis!

It makes sense.

They probably average $5 for the auto, $20 for the jersey off the rack that turns into 1000 swatches, $10 for the actual printing process for the entire box.

So ~$30 cost should net $700.

Even their 100% illustrated cards now where you can draw whatever tf you want have the most milquetoast poses ever.

Prizmania, slammy, the faux illustrated Kabooms. "Yeah, this dude t-posing with a grimace on his face sure says 'KABOOM!' to me."

"Pay more photographers?! Never!"

I guess I should be happy they aren't constantly using the exact same picture across products as often anymore.

Topps is just as sh*t so I am kind of thinking about at least cutting myself off of new products as soon as Topps licensed starts rolling out unless it's super special.

Absolute garbage.

Didn't use to be. I have fond memories of opening a discounted box of 2011 Absolute Memorabilia and pulling a Julio Jones patch auto AND a Von Miller auto.

That box had the contents I'd expect to find in 2 cases nowadays.

Absolute used to be my favorite decently priced product. Loved 2012 absolute.
