Been tracking this set since the announcement. I knew I would buy into an RPA spot for myself. Pulled this grail from a break. Its debut patch too!

Otherwise, GOAT players like Jerry West should be worth more then Bronny James.

And the reason why Wembanyama has all this hype isn't just because he could be a GOAT one day, it's because he's a freak of nature alien. It's amazing watching him play in person or on TV, completely unlike every other player before him to a certain degree. People will buy and collect that all day until proven otherwise.
I been wondering how collectors can view him long term considering how big men like Jokic and Giannis card prices do. Especially Jokic with MVPs and a ring and his cards aren't that expensive. There's also the aspect that Wemby isn't American and if that can negatively impact his stuff long term.
He also doesn't seem to have a personality like Ant who can talk mess.

But after watching that interview of him talking not being impressed at some of his colleagues lol I think the dude can make an impact with audiences.
If you haven't seen it

Ultimately, collectors don't seem to like to collect "boring" or big players.

He has the right attitude. KD, Gobert, Jrue, and Wilt the four he admires.

It's true that watchability and highlights are king for collecting

Although for that reason I'm not really sure why you used Giannis as an example of an undervalued player, people love his cards

I understand disapproval of a product/player..so, I can see why someone would come in here and state their disapproval ONCE..but to continually come in here, like a broken record, trashing something you have no interest in, is just flat out rude and unnecessary.

And here's the news flash: since it's the same handful of people doing it, all the time (I'm over in the baseball forum too, it's the same people), their opinion becomes watered down and even more irrelevant. I can see the avatar and rarely even read the comment.

I've avoided "blocking" people here so far, but I guess that's the next logical step.

I don't understand why these people keep coming back..someone enthusiastic about Mercury will not care what you say once, much less 15 times in a different way..that goes for any product/player..the same statements are old and tiresome.

This is a great post, and also one of the great mysteries on these forums. Why are posters coming in and commenting about a topic they don't care about?

My example is always vintage. I couldn't care less about vintage - so guess what? I don't open a vintage thread, much less read or post in one. Why would I? That is a complete waste of time.

Too many people on here are just miserable, and determined to share said misery with as many people as they can. It's quite sad.

People chime in to correct lies, misconceptions, falsehoods, slander and fallacies.

That’s what message boards are about.

Now back to positive comments only.

Anyone break anymore product and has the Bron/Wemby surfaced yet?

Season debut tonight.

I haven't seen a single Bron/Wemby yet, which must mean that it's in my sealed box. Also are there any more auto or relic superfractors left to be pulled?

The flow of new eBay listings has definitely slowed down, and there's clear preferences for debut game and white jerseys over black. Hope Wemby drops 28/18/6 tonight and the MVP talk can begin.

Shocker to see who was the first to celebrate an off night. I’d rather be wrong and happy than right and miserable.

It’s fun to poke fun at unrealistic expectations.

If you take away his 1-8 on 3's, he was 4-10 shooting.

Maybe he just shouldn't be taking 3's?

It seems like he's trying to model his game after KD which may be a mistake

With as large as his stride is and how tall he is he's probably better off just driving to the rim every time and going for permanent layups

Glad I'm not the only one who feels this way.

I understand the game has changed, teams are shooting more 3s than ever. And I'm clearly not an NBA coach but I felt that he shot way more 3s than he should've. Don't understand why they don't take advantage of his length and get an easy 2 points at least 70% (via Wemby) of the time.

Same reason Haliburton doesn't drive too often. Fouls in the paint hurt.

If he drives to the rim too much, is there concern with a badly rolled ankle or a knee issue with his build, though?

0.975 points per 3PA last year
1.068 points per 2PA last year

His 2 point percentage gets dragged down by all the terrible mid-range jumpers he takes. 203 of them last year, shooting 32.5%. Just game 1, but there was nothing last night to suggest he’s made any improvements.

Why is this pencil shooting 8 threes?

For the same reason Jeremy Sochan was the PG last year, they are less interested in winning than exploring what does/does not work at this point.

I truly don't understand why this diving board is slinging 8 threes. Stay in your lane, totem pole.
