Surprise Birthday Sale! My birthday wish this year is to clear out as much space in my studio as possible for new inventory. I still have about 3 years of artist-signed cards alone I am working on completing and it's taking up an insane amount of real estate in my small studio. As they say, "Everything must go!"

Tomorrow, Oct.14 from 12am - 11:59pm central time, everything in my shop will be 50% OFF! (Excluding pre-sale items)

To any other October babies in here, I wish you a happy birthday too.

I think the Wells artwork might be Angel's best yet. Excellent detail.

I think I still prefer his Campanella card, but the Wells is fantastic.

It also reminds me, the set needs David Wells, preferrably with a reference photo of the game he wore Babe Ruth's hat.

Anne (Susan Sarandon) light many candles today for him 2day I’m sure. For sure we need a card of Fernando breathing through his eyelids looking to the sky.

If the card doesn’t feature him in his windup I don’t want it!

Thank you Topps for another HOF player. Simmons was a nice surprise and underrated. Artwork is amazing as always.

Hopefully we have exhausted all of the rookies and upstarts, and can get back to stars and HOFers

I'm glad to see Mason Miller. He was an All-Star this season, and with the A's playing in Sacramento for the next three seasons, I'm not sure how that's going to affect the inclusion of their players in the set for the foreseeable future.

That being said, Lawlar is a puzzling inclusion.

He's played 14 MLB games, all in September 2023, and spent all of 2024 in the minors, where he battled injuries all season.

I would guess current A's will only have "ATHLETICS" on their cards while any old timers will conintue to show "Oakland Athletics" (I would hope).

8 more weeks/16 cards left in 2024.

I tend to think you're right on both counts. There's no reason to not use Philadelphia Athletics, Kansas City Athletics, or Oakland Athletics for players who spent time with any of those teams.

Simply using Athletics for current players is exactly how it works for the Angels, even though I dislike how current Angels players are handled. It would be great to see Sacramento Athletics for the next three seasons, specifically for the historical aspect of the team's move and the Living Set's ability to capture the transition from Oakland to Las Vegas.

Card drop should be on New Years Day...any plans to have player born on 1/1 on that day?

Notable players include Hank Greenberg (needs card), Tim Keefe (needs card) and LaMarr Hoyt (slight stretch but he did win Cy Young award...worthy enough in my book).

We'll also get a card release Christmas Day.

Hall of Fame players born on Christmas Day include Rickey Henderson (#28), Pud Galvin (would be the first 19th century player), and Nellie Fox.

Speaking of LaMarr Hoyt and his Cy Young Award, I'm actually working on adding an Award Winners tab to my spreadsheet to track players exactly like Hoyt. I think including MVP, Cy Young, and ROY award winners is a great way to include more retired players in the set.

I am curious to see what they are going to do with the current Athletics players the next few years. I grabbed the Brent Rooker in part due to thinking he might be the last current A featured from Oakland (I also liked the rolling hills background that is very different from the other cards). Guess I'll have to grab Miller's for the same reason.

Appreciate it!

I finished the Bio Text tab yesterday, and the Award Winners tab is up to date through 1985. Once I complete the latter, I’ll go back and enter the applicable Living Set cards.

I really need to learn how to build a website!

Lawyer may be an inventory issue. Already bought and paid for but there wasn’t a good time To release him. But if they hold on to next year, it won’t be an RC. So they dump during the World Series

Pure speculation on my part

Lamar Hoyt AND nellie Fox in the same post!

Fox can be displayed next to fellow 1959 mvp Ernie banks.

And you could always have Hoyt sold the same week as Ozzie guillen (player).
They were in the same trade in 1984! And ya gotta make him with the 83 uniform and the moustache! Not as a Manager in the current uniforms

I was glad to get Lawlar in the set as a rookie. Also the first Diamondbacks card released in over a year. While injured most of this year, we expect him to be a key player for the team in the future.
