I don't get why Topps would do this (not use the 1st for their 1st Chrome U card) - it simply doesn't make sense. And you make a good point regarding Bowman NFL releases - do they phase out the 1st in Bowman U? Will be interesting to see. |

Dang Toppps has me chasing my tail!!!! I got aced out of the pre-orer for TCU Baseball b/c i didn't order in 1 millisecond so I did that here and cases upon cases still up for grabs........good job Topps I can't guess right for the life of me now.
I'm not saying I would not have purchased (I would have these are personal boxes for me) but I feel like Pavlov's dog right now, every time there is a release I am interested in I'm logged in refreshing my laptop staring at the screen for like 15 min......... |

Any thoughts on the CL's division of the prospects into categories I and II?
It doesn't seem to delineate 1st/non-1st. Wonder if Category II (>101-200) be somewhat SP'd like last year?

You can never be sure with topps but I would think that it’s just an odd way to list out the checklist. |

I see that release date is November 27.
I know we saw that for retail, but I was holding out hope that hobby would release earlier. Not thrilled that hobby releases the final week of the regular season. |

Sapphire won't be long after then. Was 12/15 last year

I pre-ordered two jumbo boxes.
I was torn between getting 3 hobby or 2 jumbo boxes. Decided to go with the latter since, for $10 more, you're getting significantly fewer base cards -- but also a marginally better chance at some better parallels and still six autos. I have so much regular BUC base from past years that the trade-off was worth it for me. YMMV. If anybody gets any Dani Dennis-Sutton, lmk! |

That would be fine, have some recovery time. Wasn't Bowman's Best U released in January last year or was it later?

I want to say yes for January. It seemed to me there was a good sized break between BUC and BUC Sapphire, but Best came out almost immediately after Sapphire did.

You know how I remember? Me and my kids were driving to the national championship and they were watching some breaks of Best U on YT. ![]()

I know I should not be surprised by anything Topps/Fanatics.... But I did not expect cases of both options still available 24hrs later

Will be curious to see what retail is priced at release.

+1 +1 +1
I was baffled by it myself. $800 is quite a bit much for 1 extra auto per box and marginally improved insert/parallel odds. Last edited by Fenway55; 10-30-2024 at 03:07 PM. |

I think it's a testament to how far college products have to go to be as popular as pro products. BUC is awesome, and I think people are slowly realizing that, but I think there's still a very large contingent of collectors that aren't interested in products outside of an NFL uniform.

Leaning toward passing this year. Price increase and checklist not really doing it for me.

I will buy a couple of blasters - there is a WMU player on the checklist.

OOS now for all formats. Did they pull it or did they actually sell out? Were they attempting to get a gauge of interest mainly? Given published odds the print run is set right?
