Going to get draft for sure. What, if anything, would you swap the Chrome Update and 2022 HHN case for?
Why 2023 chrome update?

I hate opening heritage - especially on the years they don't put the variations names on the back

I watched quite a bit of Chrome Update get ripped on FL and recall a million worthless sticker autos being pulled. Out of the 3 you listed, that’d be the one I would personally cut.

Damn, 2021 TC NPB already OOS.

I should've just bought the 5 I initially had in my cart lol.

I expect some more to be reloaded though, as usually is the case.

More expensive than last year. Still an ok deal.

I saw that price and thought to myself “they must really want to move these cases.” Especially with hobby at $150.

The problem is Yamamoto's value now is down from last year, as is Murakami. Not sure of Sasaki's market now.

ya I'm gonna kind of agree - it seems like it is sasaki or bust at $100 a box - then again could always probably flipped sealed for a profit

Look how many boxes have sold the past 90 days and you will reconsider.

Chrome NPB is a funny product. A couple years ago this was $350 per box for a moment. After Seiya and Imanaga cooled off, there's four guys in this product that could be considered a chase--Murakami, Sasaki, Yamamoto, and Shunpeita Yamashita. Yamamoto was fine, and I don't see much upward movement on his price. Murakami is looking less peak Frank Thomas and more, maybe he can be Kyle Schwarber. Sasaki battled arm issues, and when pitching, didn't have the outlier velocity or stuff. Yamashita was super ineffective and got demoted to the minor leagues where he might have righted the ship, but his stock certainly isn't any higher than it was 12 months ago.

Way more question marks than there were last season with this product. $100 a box is a great price, and if Roki is posted these will be easy flips. But I'm not opening this at $100/per.

I'm stashing Murakami and waiting for the post-2025 posting bump.

I liked Murakami a lot after 2022 due to the preternatural power. But there is genuine Yoshi Tsutsugo-risk in that he simply can't get to his power in-game. If he can't, he's Russell Branyan and stuck at 1B/DH.

First, the dead ball era in NPB is insane and has greatly suppressed the power in 2023-2024. But Murakami also plays in a relative bandbox in Yakult and is running a ~34% K rate against AAAA competition. Batted ball metrics have regressed significantly since the 2022 season. Dead ball or not, he's riding a 1% percentile contact rate in a league significantly worse than the MLB and isn't making improvement.

I'm assuming folks are paying attention this closely and there will still be the standard posting bump once he's announced to be coming over.

Feels like a million years ago that product’s release was all the rage!

Only thing I'd buy is 2014 topps chrome mini football. I know it's a limited product, compared to regular 2014 topps chrome, which they printed to the moon. I remember cases sitting on the shelf for $400. Mini for around $80 seems like a fun rip compared to today's prices.

I pulled the superfractor Yamamoto Chrome NPB last year. Sold it on Goldin.

It’s very representative of the peak COVID boom. It was actually a fun product but it was made in ludicrous volumes. It’s actually insane companies like Blowout have any left because it sold ridiculously well and blasters were willing for $60 (maybe more) at one point. Some of these companies must have sat in inventory speculating Zion was, in fact, the “next great one.”

No doubt. I remember some real wackadoos in that thread. The main culprit being some dude who just kept bragging for pages on end about the medical supplies he would buy at Walmart/Walgreens and flip. Wild times.

Blowout was buying the factory sets for $300 at one point before they fell off a cliff. Guessing they didn't do too well with those.
