Didn’t see this discussed but when you lose to the Panthers owners clearly don’t like that and you see results like Allen getting fired.
Curious what things others here need to be addressed. To me the defense has holes. Carr is average at best QB that won’t lead any team deep into playoffs, and the WR corp here is a hodge podge of number twos. Personally I think this team needs a full rebuild and to trade as many players as they can for draft collateral. Guys like Alvin Kamara and Marshon Lattimore can be much needed pieces for playoff runs and would be great trade bait. I think they need a franchise QB and stud WR- a clear number one, someone that would help players like Olave and Shaheed to excel. Any Saints fans here? What are you thinking? |

Alvin Kamara now, is not Alvin Kamara 2020. He is just paid like he still is. Throw out that game where the Saints lite up the Cowboys in week 2. And he hasnt done anything much at all. Not sure who would trade for him, and his fresh $25MIL 2 year deal. That the Saints themselves cant even afford. They pushed that money into void years.
I really don't see many tradable assets on the team. Even your Lattimore is due $32MIL next year. And they are in Salary Cap hell as well. So they need to start throwing bodies over the boat soon. The team with the 2nd least cap space next year is the Browns. Thanks to the Watson debacle. They are at -$3.7MIL in space. The Saints, with the least space? They will be at -$61.5MIL. Not a typo. |

Saints had cap hell due to pushing Brees into void years. It wasn't a bad call IMO. They were supposed to take these Dennis Allen years to right the books and compete again once all the dead money clears. Sinking money into Carr goes against that plan. I can't fault Lattimore's contract, it's not easy to find good CBs. Kamara is a fan favorite but adding void years hurts the rebuild.

Kamara is going to want out. His cap hit next year isn't bad though. 10 million if he is still with the saints or 25 million if not on the roster. Trading next year makes more sense via cap. Carr's cap hit goes up 40 million, yikes. That is the more interesting spot.

They need to flush cap and start all over. There's just not a team or culture in place and hasn't really beens since Brees/Payton left.

Their next best move is getting rid of the general manager Mickey Loomis

They need to cut bait on all the overpaid vets and start the rebuild. Wonder what Payton would give us for Taysom Hill?

Yep ever since 09 Loomis has been trying to repeat the magic that got them a SB kept kicking the can down the road signing players until they became a old washed up team with just a roster of high priced old vets who are done. Need to get a new GM in there who's willing to do a from the ground rebuild.

Is Sanders on the list of teams Deion has approved? I don't think I'd touch that kid

You got a point I could see the Giants making a big push for a QB Doubt he goes to Vegas-Guess it really depends on whos going to be the coach. Sanders is the best QB coming out next year thats why I would want him

More people have Ward rated as a true QB1. I have seen him & Sanders mocked multiple times to Saints, Giants, and Raiders. But clearly, it's 1 & 2 Ward/Sanders or Sanders/Ward whatever order you personally rank them. I like them both a lot. I think either of them could immediately be better on day 1 than any QB on the Giants or Raiders, and long term better than Carr. Don't forget about Quinn Ewers, I have seen a lot of love for him too, not as a top 2 QB taken.
