Default D8nner the Night Before Thanksgiving

Do you have a special meal that you eat regularly on the night before Thanksgiving?

Since everyone has answered No so far (no surprise, makings of a PPP), I would love to know what those that answer Yes make.

I've heard of going out and drinking the night before (I used to partake), but never heard of a special meal.

Old guy that I used to work with wouldn’t eat any turkey (including lunch meat) for two months before Thanksgiving. He said he didn’t want to ruin Thanksgiving dinner. He’d bash anyone that did eat turkey during that time.

What would he think about your six Thanksgivings leading up to the real one, Tubs?

Pizza a lot of times since so much time is spent doing thanksgiving prep work. Or just something quick like chicken strips, fries in the air fryer

I should come up with something, maybe I will put something in the crock pot this year

I enjoy having a "Thanksgiving Sandwich" prior to Thanksgiving from one of a few local places that they put on the menu for the fall.

Turkey, stuffing, gravy, cranberry sauce...

You can’t answer that question in 2024. You could get in trouble

What about do you cook thanksgiving dinner pole? Because we are in that age group where neither of our families do anymore

My wife’s side we generally travel, going to Florida on Monday, so it will be a restaurant

My side is small enough now, in terms of who attends, that we cater it all

We are getting close enough though where our parents become legit grandparents, meaning let’s say 70+, where will will host and probably start cooking

Not quite there yet where we still let them dictate

A catered Thanksgiving?

Nothing says Thanksgiving like a truck backing up to your door to unload the dinner...

Hey the COVID year it was just 3 adults and our daughter so we let Cracker Barrel do everything, and it was pretty damn good lol.

Talk to my parents

They are at an age where they don’t want to cook

They are at an age where they don’t want to hand it over to my wife and I yet

So we do what they want

It’s like you didn’t read my post

As others have stated, kitchen is usually in full use so we get takeout. When I was a young man, friends and I would go to bars and play cards.
