I got an order that delivered on 6th of Sep (Value Bulk 71 cards) that still stuck in research & ID? anyone ever having the same issue? If so will it resolved themselves or do I have to contact them? (Estimated completion time is 8th of Nov)

I am very slow to call their customer service line, but this would be one that I wouldn't have an issue calling them about. Make sure you call right when their CS hours begin. If they open at 7am MST, you call them right as the clock strikes 7am. That'll ensure you get through to someone today.

They'll tell you that the completion dates are estimates, but I'd say this one falls beyond the normal "PSA is slow" line we hear on these boards. I'd call just to put it on their radar and they'll then be able to look into it for you, and hopefully get it moving along. Best of luck!

Since a lot of people think PSA has been tougher the last few months, I was curious how the gem rates for sports cards compared. You see the biggest dropoff in the 2010's, which can't be explained by trends with recent products.

I'd love to see their internal data on the grade distribution for individual graders, and whether the dropoff is universal or isolated to a core group of graders (ie. recent hires who just started grading independently).

Anyway, if you crack stuff out and track certs, it looks like this era may be fruitful if their gem rates start returning to their spring/summer form.

Had an order get delivered on Saturday with no scan in from PSA yet. They must have gotten a lot of packages before the holiday week.

Would be curious to see this for the aughts, 90s and 80s. It sure seems they are grading way harder than before (as a 30 year experienced grader).

The rates were on the low side for the 80's and 90's, but not as much. The 00's are usually the modern era with the lowest volume, but the link to the grading reports is in the first post.

My own experience with mostly 2010-2024 cards is that the majority of my orders seemed normal, but a few were batsh**. That's why I'd love to know how the grading distributions compare for each grader and senior reviewer, but I'd probably have to achieve astral projection to make that happen lol.

The intragrader variability is what gets people. The random sub that comes back with a 10% gem rate really stings.

Thanks, I really try to avoid the CS as I heard it's hell but I guess no other option

The people on the other end of the line are fine. It's just a nuisance to have to call right when they open. I'm sure they'll do their best to get you answers and help out, especially in such an extreme case of delay such as your order.

Good work here! I know people have been saying it for a while now but this shows it well—if we’re dropping into the 30’s on gem rates, people can forget about the grading process adding much value to their cards. It’s great for people who just like the holder and the uniformity of things being in the registry, but for those looking to add value to their nicer stuff—with these numbers, PSA is currently not the best option. Not saying they should give everyone 10’s by any means! It just has the look of an intentional effort to keep 10’s suppressed.

A 10 is a 10. A 10 is not suddenly a 9 if there have been too many other 10’s graded that day. When you’re selling 3rd-party assessments on card condition and something other than the card condition determines the grade—that’s not a sustainable trend once people start to lose trust.

Updating just to say there is no update. Like others stuck in Research for about a month on a small, 10 card order vs the last order that took only 2 weeks.

According to the slow movement on orders I think they have been closed the entire month of November.

I have a 20 card value bulk order that arrived on 11/7 and still has not progressed to order prep after 19 days. This is my 7th bulk sub since August, the previous 6 were already in Research & ID by now.

I just don't get it. My September order is stuck in assembly. I have an October special that got there end of last week. This morning it went into research and ID. This afternoon went to grading. An hour ago it hit assembly...
