Default 2024 Topps Finest Flashbacks?

Looked through the releases into 2025. Did Topps discontinue this product?

The 1997 retro version? No way. It's an online exclusive which may explain why it doesn't show up

Doubt it, they will probably push it to November or December. Think last year it was an October release.

Last year's did not do so well. Would the 1997 design be any better? They have to find a way to enhance the product. There was one parallel per case and the tiers of rarity were not appreciated. Not a great product for breakers either.

Topps is not providing release details on many products until a month before release and the information on the online exclusive stuff is not released until 1-2 days before release. So still lots of time.

There is no way they miss the chance to remake Gold Embossed Refractors.

If they did, we might have to send someone to do a welfare check on DynaEtch, because I think he'd have a heart attack.

I know the general feelings on this site are that more parallels does not make for a better product, but I think they need to go back to the suite of refractors they had in 2022. 2023 only having base refractors, protector /10, and supers really hurt the popularity in my opinion. Especially since people didn't really make a big deal out of the rarity tiers as someone mentioned above. This year's Finest may have been a bit oversaturated with all of the refractors for each rarity tier, but it sure did make for a fun product

Yeah. As someone who collected in the day, the first year of Finest still is really sentimental for me. The first refractors and just a cool design. Once they went to tiers, it's really hard to even remember what it was all about. I know I pulled some super rare Jerry Rice but I couldn't even tell you what it was anymore. It was a gold die cut deckle edge refractor of some sort.

Dyna might not like it if they're cheap imitations. It depends on how faithful they are to the originals.

Agreed on the imitations. 2024 Topps Chrome has the All Etch insert parallel, which looks great as the etching design is awesome. But, they didn't actually etch the card as the design points out. I'd bet that Topps would do just the very same with a flashback to the embossed cards...they will look embossed design wise but I bet they will not physically emboss the texture. Even the recent Flashbacks protector parallels weren't even protector coating. It was just words printed over the refractor'd card. I'd be all about collecting these if they would simply go with the OG and produce the actual physical attributes of some of these awesome 90's flashback cards.

The Finest "what if" 1993 refractors were good enough for me this year. I also saved a lot of money last year as I had no interest in cards outside the traditional colorways.

Help an old lad out: when was the last time Finest had an Embossed insert?

I still haven't seen anything on this product. Hopefully it exists for this year as I was looking forward to seeing the '97 Finest designs used.

I think it's coming -- they already announced a X-Men '97 Finest product for release in early 2025. It will surely use the same designs as 1997 Finest.

I think so too, no real reason for Topps to cancel it, but it probably won’t be out in 2024.

I now believe it’s a 95% chance we get this product. Figured it would’ve came out before Archives since Archives came out in November and Finest Flashbacks came out in October last year.

If we get to the last week of January without any word on this release then I will start doubting that this product will come out.

Default 2024 Topps Finest Flashbacks?

Would be pretty odd for them to stop the line at the popular 97 Finest design. Also strange it didn’t come out in 2024 though.

I echo whoever said it above ITT…when’s the last time we’ve seen embossed baseball inserts? I can’t remember Topps doing that since like the 90s. Maybe thats complicating some things.

Same thing as HHN, Archives, etc. Everything appears to be coming out a couple months later than it did last year.

Yeah I would find it very odd too. Thinking maybe taking longer just to make sure Skenes is in it? And I think I would actually be surprised if they embossed the cards, expecting just a die cut refractor

I was listening to SCN podcast and they are breakers with Fanatics account and they said yesterday that Archives would be the last release for 2024. It's possible it still comes out but it sounds like Fanatics hasn't announced it

This is the problem with Fanatics atrocious lack of communication...collectors just end up being confused/dismayed/pissed.

There are at least FOUR popular products from the 2024 cycle that there has yet to be ANY information about: Finest Flashbacks, RIP, HHN, Platinum Anniversary, and possibly Heritage Mini Hi Number.

At least just tell us what the heck is going on with these products.....

They don't care about collectors.

I forgot about Platinum. I need that to come out because it's been a big part of my PC the last 3 years. It does seem like they don't communicate releases that well even to shops and breakers and then they just come out so hopefully that's the case.
