2024 Topps Chrome Update

I am actually having fun ripping these. My son and I opened up two yesterday morning when he got back from school. Pink lava Chourio out of 299 was the big hit from my box. My son ran into about 30 boxes at Target yesterday when he went to the store to pick up some things. He grabbed two more boxes for us to rip.

No. Neither Ohtani or Judge have base cards in update.

Pulled this from a single Mega box.

An order of 3 Megas from Target yielded one Auto (blue /150) & 3 color (/99, /199, /250) along with the expected x-fractors/raywave/refractors. Nice to see a decent retail product. Was surprised the auto was on-card, too.

I thought so. There was a breaker today telling people each time he pulled the All Star Ohtani and Judge that it was $40 for the buyback. I tried telling him that it didn't count for it and he didn't believe me.

What'd be a better long term hold as wax? Topps Chrome or Topps Chrome Update?

+ Skenes is only in Chrome Update.
+ Pro Debut Patch only in Chrome Update.
- HOWEVER, first RCs (non debut cards) of Elly, Jackson 3, etc., are found in Chrome. Chrome Update has those "Pro Debut MM/DD/YYYY" cards, usually worth less, right?

Is it silly to think a Topps retail box produced in 2024 might be a solid long term hold?
Also, would this question be better as a new thread?

I am not too sure on the Update RC, for Elly, Jackson 3, etc. It is almost like update chrome-2018 Rcs . People will still buy the Ohtani, Acuna Chrome RCs even though they were in the first offering. Of course they are lower, but they offer Value especially if they do get hot. But yeah 2018 Update Chrome usually is about the Soto rc for sure, but the other's dont hurt it. Which Skenes=Soto, others are others. Update cannot go wrong seeing as normal Chrome is not cheap.

All the base is mass produced now (more than 2018, anyway), so RCs won't be enough.

Update will have more rookie year players in it, plus the 1/1 RPAs.

Anybody else having orders delivered all over the United States except your house on the topps chrome update from our friendly Target dot com recently? I’m in Michigan. I’m getting orders delivered to Ohio California now Minnesota and finally one in Delaware. These are delivered orders.

My 5 boxes showed up a day early to Kentucky today, and taking them to the local show to sell tomorrow. No interest in ripping any more of these since the first 3-4 boxes were meh.

bought 2 megaboxes from barnes and noble, happy with the Jackson as I figured it was worth a decent amount, kind of bummed at the Skenes as I figured it was some sub-set and probably an $8 card once I checked its price on Ebay(and I didn't get any other "hits" in that box) so yea needless to say I was pretty happy once I saw what they were going for on Ebay
