2024 Topps Chrome Update

Bought three Mega boxes on a whim when I saw them at retail price ($50). After seeing some of the results I think I'm going to just sell them. Anyone think these will go up in value long term or should I just dump them now?

My order shows delivered in PA and I'm in CT. Called Target and they said they were aware of this issue happening with trading cards, gave me a ref # and said I'd hear back in 5-7 business days. Mine showed in CT as of this morning.

I did notice yesterday that I had an order shipping via USPS that was showing as arriving but the tracking showed delivered in Lancaster PA, and I am in Seattle WA. However the Megabox orders I am expecting are coming via UPS, not USPS so there must be a Target glitch were other people's tracking numbers were assigned to the wrong customer.

I now show two orders delivered, one went to Missouri, one went to New Jersey. Both appear to be via the USPS/UPS joint venture where UPS handles the bulk of the travel and then USPS makes the final delivery. A few others are showing out for delivery today but in other states. I am in Target chat now and they are clueless, and seem to think it was my mistake when it clearly shows my address on my account where to ship the orders to. So it appears total strangers are getting deliveries and more than likely the bulk of them will keep them for themselves.

Target usually uses UPS SurePost for these online orders. UPS handles the majority of ths shipping, and the last leg of the delivery is sometimes handled by USPS. It's a cost saving measure for UPS.

I have gotten many things delivered via UPS SurePost this past year, but UPS has actually been handling the final leg of the delivery on my last several SurePost orders.

I'm not sure what determines if UPS or USPS will make the actual delivery to the buyer. I think if the package is ahead of schedule, UPS will just make the actual delivery instead of transferring it to USPS to do so.

I have a Target order due for this Wednesday via UPS SurePost. No Chrome Update megas, but instead Panini Premium Stock mega and Topps Update hangars. Hopefully mine isn't affected.

Yeah I understand how the joint venture with UPS and USPS but I agree sometimes one or the other handles the final delivery. I am checking other tracking numbers and they are all over the map. What is baffling is one order shows in my city on Target's website, but when I click the tracking it shows it was actually delivered in Lancaster Wisconsin. So right now of my seven orders, one shows delivered in Missouri, one in Wisconsin, one in New Jersey, and one in New York. Still checking the other three. There is no way Target will be able to get these orders back, to reship out to the actual customer, unless someone is honest out there, I suspect people getting these shipments will keep them thinking someone sent them to them as a Christmas gift, etc. Target will do a half-ass apology but blame the carriers, and then cancel our orders, which will result in the original purchaser getting nothing but random strangers getting boxes of cards for free. I could be wrong in thinking this will play out, but I am going to alert my credit card company nonetheless what is occuring.

2 Orders for me as well One Shows delivered today In Indiana we are in North Texas....The other one shows in Ft Worth TX for the last 3 days and scheduled to Deliver on the 5th. So sitting a week about 40 miles away......Target is really going to take a hit this holiday season. My wife has other orders that are not cards from them and they look like they are running smooth.....

That order of mine that is in Oakland is for three mega boxes, if by some small margin that order shows up to you, let me know the tracking number on the box as I would be curious if that would be my tracking number and then would love to see the actual shipping label on the box as well. I wonder if they placed two different shipping labels on x amount of boxes and tagged both customers with the same tracking number so two people would be vying for the package to be delivered. Just a theory though on my part if that is what happened. All of the orders I placed all seem to ship out of the Des Moines, Iowa distribution center.

I pressed a few times and at least got this from their customer service. "I can understand that the orders have been dispatched and due to a technical error multiple orders are impacted which are having same tracking numbers"

So it seems target was assigning the wrong tracking number to packages. I guess this is not a good situation for them.

Update on a few of mine. 2 orders which had shown “delivered”, to other parts of the country yesterday, showed up on my doorstep today, alongside another order which tracked correctly.

Thanks for the update, assigning the same tracking number to multiple customers, while still a big glitch, at least means everyone should still receive their orders and by the sounds of it by a few people here posting about their orders arriving despite what tracking says is certainly a good sign.

Opened one mega box got lucky and pulled a Skenes Xfractor.

One thing that really caught me off guard was the amount of parallels and inserts. I think I had 4 base cards out of an entire mega box. I've never felt more confident that we are in a junk parallel era.
