$150 per box lol, I’m sure many of us will be out now. They finally stopped giving us a nice Ginter X treat.

Ugh, thats a kick in the pants. Right around the price they would eventually be aftermarket.

1:3 boxes for red mini
1:14 boxes for silver mini

Based on the silver minis odds there should be just a bit less than 5,000 boxes and a little more than 400 cases.

So only 100 of the cards are chrome. That means that there's about 5000 total full size chrome, or 50 of each.

For the mini chrome it appears the print run should be in the 7-8 per card range. Thats a very small number and should add in some value.

I still cant reconcile the odds on the autos to only one per box. Maybe my math is off. If it comes out close to 2 autos per box, it does soften the price blow somewhat.

I still don't think $149 is THAT awful, but this def isn't a money maker this year.

That definitely sucked the air out of the room. $69.99 last year to $149. Fun rip under $100, at $150 very close to a pass.

I think this year will sell out faster than previous years. They’ve created the perception this is a more premium product and thus people who otherwise wouldn’t care are going to care now. Fanatics knows what they’re doing. It’s a BS tactic but this is a common marketing strategy across all industries. So that combined with the fact that previous years almost all sell for $150 on the secondary market makes $150 a lock and load price point. I think it sucks but it was largely predictable. This already expensive hobby has gone on steroids the past 12 months. And price points wont get cheaper. If the market really takes a giant dump they’ll just keep production the same and maintain the price points.

If the market takes a dump and demand drops, they'll probably scale back production or lower price-point enough to where enough demand is met.

I didn't buy a box of Ginter this year for $120, so maybe it makes sense to buy Ginter X for $150 with at least the guarantee of an auto? Not spending my money feels like I saved my money for this.

But this still a gut punch of a price compared to last years. I hope the chrome hits will add a bit of value and there's some chance at two autos instead of just one. That would make it work better for me.

Regarding 2024 Ginter X price, $150 per?!

Haha, it was only a matter of time before they noticed the golden goose!

Okay, I know $150 is alot for Ginter, compared to last year.

But if 2023 Ginter is still at $225-$300 a Box

I am guessing this gets sold out fast? $250-$300/ box value for this Rookie class should match the current value for 2023?

And Topps knows it too. sucks.

2023 is that price due to Wemby autos. Look at 2022 or 2021 and you'll see they're around $150 right now.

That said, yes this rookie class is stacked and there should be Ohtani autos in it. So probably will go for north of $200 on resale.

Killed*

That said I'm still going to rip a couple boxes. The chrome in black are a nice added chase.

There were only 5 Wemby autos I believe and I also believe 3 were publicly pulled/listed. Not sure that is driving the price, though there is a floor due to the value of the Wemby base card and base mini.

Haha, I don't think they've killed it yet. But the margins (both from ripping and flipping) are certainly smaller.

I forgot about that, autos aren't the only driving force but he's gotta be the one driving that product compared to previous years.

While Wemby is carrying 2023, 2024 has a much stronger checklist and is more top heavy. 2023 had Nadal (which didn’t seem to be an SSP in reg Ginter), Deniro, Hart (again, didn’t seem to be an SSP in reg Ginter), Stroud, and Wemby. Those were basically the top ones and everything else was way lower. Aldean and Probst both appear to be SSP in regular Ginter and are in high demand so their X releases will have a floor. Then you have Bolt, Travis Scott, Daly, Caleb, and Daniels. On top of that, the MLB rookie class “feels” much deeper than 2023. Even with peak Carrol, it was essentially him, Gunnar, and Adley. But in 2024 you’ve got Skenes, Wyatt, Carter, Chourio, Holliday, and Merril. And there’s a slew of non MLB (which is what I collect) auto that are mid tier that 2023 didn’t have. IDK. I loved the 2023 non MLB list but 2024 as a product feels incredibly stronger in the long run. It’s also beginning to feel like Deniro isn’t going to sign his 2023 (which sucks since I have 4 of them pending) so 2023 is killed by that as well.

Massive list but some big big names and lots of good names. The hometown favorites/HOF checklist is not gonna pay for a box, but wont dissapoint too many people either.

What is going on with the odds here?

18 packs per box.

(1/23) + (1/58) + (1/114) packs odds Baseball auto.

(1/35) + (1/71) + (1/306) packs odds for non-baseball auto

= Roughly 2.07 autos per 18 pack box; but advertised as one per box? Am I supposed to trust "1 mini autograph per box", or the stated odds, which translate to 2 autos per box?

Two autos per box would make this ALOT more palatable. Wish it was not this ambiguous though.
