Since when is Elite and Rookies and Stars obscure? They're staples that have been around forever. Learn what obscure actually means before calling anyone a pretender

yes, nobody likes bases of Rookie and Stars, demand low, price low. It's not that hard to see. See for yourself how these cards look and tell me it looks good.

Elite is not obscure, but I never see anyone collecting it's base cards. The appeal is on the oncard auto of Pen Pals (which Allen's still selling well) and maybe turn of the century. Rookie and stars? It's a weak product nobody likes, just because the card is low numbered doesnt make it more desirable if the design is just plain bad. This is what people failed to understand. Not all 1/1 or /5 are the same

Oh I get it. But if a base that has tens of thousands of copies is going for $45, then /5, /10, /25, /49, etc. should be worth exponential amounts of that.

I can't see those two trolls posts but since one was quoted, I can't help it. I sold over 60 Mahomes base 2017 Rookies & Stars for between $800 and $1000 each but no one collects them? Delta please do research before spouting more idiotic nonsense.

Pretty sure I've posted pics in this thread of some of my Allen's. Thanks Delta but I don't need your advice. I've done ok with football cards but thanks for worrying. And I have tons of Allens in my collection but please continue thinking you know anything because I talked about five cards.

Dude, it's not rocket science. 2017 there's not many sets so any card becomes more desirable. 2017 there's no DT, Kaboom. Mahomes only has Stained glass as case hit, obviously it will narrow the number of cards people can buy down by a lot. You're only expert on 2017 cards it seems, knows nothing of 2018 cards

Did very well as you can image. Pick up this for my office.


Love the dude but I haven’t regretted it for a second.
But you guys are making think I could pick up some cool lower end stuff for cheap.
You guys think he’ll get a small bump once he wins the MVP? Or does it have to be a SB win.

Nice. I sold most of mine a while back as well. Good thing too because they're about half the price now. Was just looking at Field Level Silvers that were around $1500 back then and now they're around $650. Of course most cards have come down quite a bit. Picked the perfect time to sell.

Personally I've been thinning out my collection across the board. Not as optimistic for future pricing as I once was. Love memorabilia though!

I haven’t compared lately but how are Allen’s prices vs. Lamar Jackson?
I’d image Lamar sells a little higher since he won 2 MVP’s.

Honestly haven't really followed Lamar's market but looking at the Field Level Silver, it's about the same price as Allen right now.

3600 yards with 24 TD and 7 Int isn’t anything to write home about.
But when you throw 5 TD on Christmas I guess that’s enough to swing the vote.

I remember picking up so many Allen rookies for pennies. I miss those days. When I got all the ones I wanted, I started buying his 2nd year. They were even cheaper. I still have the R&S run from /5 down from his rookie and 2nd year. Was just looking at the Playoff run 2nd year /10 down as well. Here are a few more no one cared about - don't think I paid more than $20 for any card. The first two are /10 and the rainbow are /99, /60, /35, /25, /10, 1/1.

Those are great. Especially considering how cheap you got them. I wouldn’t break up that rainbow ever.
