So excited to add this to my Wemby PC. It's my biggest Wemby pickup and new #1 in my collection. Big fan of White Sparkles in Optic and Prizm so rolled this dice and picked this up

Amazing pickup, congrats! Probably not the best time to go shopping for one but I love Optic White Sparkles so might have to set a search for one

Thanks! Yeah it was the night after Christmas and I was just checking Wemby auctions and saw it and was like meh lemme put a bid in..if I win great..if not oh well, at least I tried. Was very happy to win it!

If players want an argument for why they don't do nice stuff for fans, this is it.

Victor does something sweet and nice for free for the kid and the parents try to make a buck out of it.

And I'm guessing that kid was sitting courtside or near the front. Maybe they won the tickets and otherwise wouldn't have been there, or they were guests of some rich person, but odds are they aren't hurting for cash.

He was sitting front row, near the timeline, standing on his chair most of the game, you could see it on the broadcast that game. A++ seats.

Maybe the won them? Make it was some kind of Make-A-Wish thing? Or maybe Greed wins 9 times out of 10.

Goldin deserved to be equally dragged for this. Can't wait for the episode of King of Collectibles where Ken tells his guys "I've gotta have that jersey... don't let me down guys" and then that young, hungry kids is convincing the parents to list the jersey while this poor kid is crying in the background.

What would be an even more hilarious twist to this story is if this kid and his dad are season ticket holders and they do this with opposing stars every game

An interesting development

So NT 2023 dropped last week and since then there's been some time to take a look at price development

As we all know wemby has no RPAs

HOWEVER

in the absence of those, there has been a rise of the "true patch" cards

These essentially look the same as the RPAs that actually do exist, except where the auto would be it instead says 23-24 rookie

From the price history, these seem to go for much more than the alternative patch cards in the product (they also go for quite a bit more than the lower tier mercury RPAs)

Any thoughts?

The /99 is a true rookie card and will be on the Registry. None of the Mercury RPAs are true rookie cards, and none will be on the Registry.

Seems like it. I still wouldn't touch it though. I'd rather buy some of his prizm or optic for the same amount of money. Patches cards just dont do it for me
