I get how it all works out formula wise. Why do the Texans get 2 points? Does that play become a safety? I know if you tackle an offensive player back into the endzone it becomes a safety. Shouldn't the Texans be credited with a touchdown.Do the Texans not become the offense at that time? I thought there was the rule a fieldgoal that is short can be returned for a touchdown. I've only seen missed/blocked fieldgoals/extra points returned like 3 times of watching football since 1989. I really don't know the return rules off of a non punted kick. I'm sorry if I sound clueless.

Thanks for the clarification. I knew the Chargers could obviously recover and get the 2 point conversion. I get the Texans returning it for 2 points. Is it considered a “Safety?”

No, Safety occurs when you are downed on your own end zone. It's just 2 points conversion for your enemy during TFP

Anytime a team crosses the opponents goal line with the football on an extra point attempt, it is worth 2 points.

With all this talk of safeties, it is worth pointing out that if a team scores a safety on a conversion attempt, it is worth 1 point.
