Default 2023 QB Draft class - More like 2021 or 2020?

I am somewhat invested in many of the 2023 draft class QBs - AR, Young, Stroud and Levis. 2024 proved to be disappointing for the 2023 draft class, however, I think there is still time for these guys to develop into solid QBs...am I crazy to think this and keep buying or halt this train right now!?

Is this group going to end up similar to the TLaw, Fields, Wilson, Jones and Lance group (all pretty much backups for life) OR do they have any possibility to develop into anything of quality starters like Tua, Love and Herbert? (Not adding Burrow to this list - nobody in 2023 is a Joe Burrow type talent.

Curious what this group thinks. Thanks for your thoughts!

I had my doubts about Young all along due to his size. He looked like a bust for sure, but made good strides this season. Levis was the guy that I got the bust vibes on, and that seems to have proven to be the case, and I was high on Stroud from the beginning, and I think he has not hit his ceiling or played his best ball. AR was my favorite guy to take a gamble on due to his freakish skills and size, but his passing is terrible. Shame because he seems like a really nice kid. I think he could still be a goal line gadget guy, like Taysom Hill, and be productive.

The jury is still out on the class of 2023, but for me 2021, is a bust overall. They have played 4 seasons, and where are Mac Jones, and Wilson? Bouncing around and backups. Tlaw has clearly NOT played up to the blue chip status he was expected to reach. I give him one more full healthy year to do something and make huge strides, but he may turn out to be a bust too - all but ensuring the 2021 class is a bust.

I don't think Levis is a bust as much as I am concerned about AR being a full time QB. Yes, Levis is much older but I have watched quite a bit of him this season and he has had stretches of pretty solid play followed by a really bad decision or 2. AR looks like he cannot catch up to the speed of the NFL. Young looked really good his last 3 starts and Stroud has been hit or miss all season but I worry about him least.

Will Levis and AR be starting QBs in 2025? Probably depends on what the Titans do with the #1 pick? If they take Hunter, does that mean they are going to give Levis 1 more shot? Will the Colts bring in a veteran for AR to work with but would that give him someone to have to look over his shoulder at every game?

Personally I think Stroud will be the only one standing when it is all said and done. This will be year 3 for these guys. Typically the year when you are confirmed an upward trajectory or flatlining. You will also start hearing the teams deciding on whether they will pick of the 5th year option. If teams are hesitant on doing that, it is a good sign the team is ready to move on.

I think that Levis sealed his fate with that 3 pick fiasco near the end of the season.

Richardson has accuracy issues. Maybe that can be fixed, maybe not. Levis, on the other hand, is a turnover machine. I wouldn't trust him as a backup.

What's the upside to continuing to buy anyone in this group right now (small case could be made for Stroud)?

Shouldn't all these guys (Stroud too, unless HOU makes a run in the playoffs) continue to go down in price at minimum until next spring training, and more than likely in perpetuity, unless they become perennial stars and fixtures in the playoffs??

And if that happens there is normally plenty of time to see it coming and get in ahead of the masses..... at least from my experience (Brady, Rodgers, Mahome, Etc all had a few years of success prior to their cards taking off). Patty was the shortest window but it was still like 15 months from when he got drafted until his cards started to move significantly.

Was wrong on AR. Spam cannon with zero touch.

Stroud most likely the best. But none scream 1st ballot/generational. And hobby wise those are the only ones that will matter long term.

If you're looking to play the stock market on the 8hr chart for quick scalps, then have at it.

Never understood why AR was drafted in the first. All hype and athleticism, very little tangible NFL QB tape.

Levis was much of the same.

I did not like Bryce at #1 overall based on his size. He’s turned it around, but had a long, long way to go.

Stroud was the only one I thought would pan out. His sophomore regular season was rough but he has a chance to wipe that slate clean this week.

I don't often agree with you, but a win in KC makes everything better regarding his sophomore slump

Solid Playoff game against the Chiefs would be a palette cleanser for him.
