Default My condolences to the Brewers family! RIP Bob Uecker.

He may not have been a great player but he was one of the largest personalities the baseball world has ever seen.

He was great. Loved watching games he was involved with.

I'm on the East Coast so I didn't get to hear him call ballgames that much. To me, he's always been the guy that made Major League a truly great movie. Every wild pitch in Little League, there would be someone adding 'juuuuuuust a bit outside. Tried the corner and missed'. Always got a laugh.

RIP

No one really understands just how much Bob Uecker means to us Brewers fans if you aren't one. Unlike everyone else who has once called Milwaukee home, Ueck didn't leave us for a bigger market or better pay. He chose to stay in Milwaukee, and we will forever be grateful for that. Ueck made us feel special and he will be greatly missed.

Too young for any playing day memories, but was all over my childhood via comedy.

First it was:

"Must be in the front rooooww .... :

... then Major League ....

Never failed to make me smile during his interviews.

Sad day.

Never got the chance to see him play, but as he would say... I didn't miss much. But the impact he made on many people my age was undeniable
Growing up in the 70's and 80's he was everywhere on TV and film.

A truly exceptional broadcaster and human being. He will be sorely missed.

Major League is a run of the mill comedy if Uecker isn't it. With him, it's not only a top tier comedy, but a phenomenal baseball movie.

Definitely a sad day. I am not a Brewers fan (truth be told, can't stand them) but Bob was definitely one of a kind.

This. Was a family favorite. My dad loved him and took me to see Major League at age 12 in the theatre.

listened to his last game, the game 3 NL wild card loss to the mets. You could hear his disappointment in the outcome.

Ah man...that's a kick in the balls.

I LOVED how he was able to make fun of himself. Such an underrated quality.

Even as a non Brewer fan I grew up with the Uke thanks to the Major League movies. There are some great clips on YouTube of Norm MacDonald and Artie Lange talking about hanging out with Uecker. The stories are not family friendly but he seems like he was a really fun guy.

RIP Bob.

I still remember the Miller Lite commercials when I was a kid. Between those and the Lowenbrau commercials, I'm pretty sure I was brainwashed into thinking beer is the best thing ever by the time I was 8.

Watching some of the MLB Network coverage, it's crazy how much Bob has been embedded in Americana.

There are some great videos on Youtube of his many visits on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson.

Truly Mr. Baseball.

Had a brief, memorable encounter with him sometime around 2007 give or take.

Coming home for Christmas. Flew into Milwaukee. My flight was already a red eye but it got delayed. Didn't end up getting in until like 5am or even later. I can't sleep on planes and was absolutely exhausted.

I'm waiting inside for my ride since it's gold and crappy out. To my right I see Bob Uecker walking toward me. He's basically on a path to cross right in front of me.

Without thinking, I look at him and say "Hi, Mr. Uecker."

He looks me dead in the eye, his face lights up and he says "Hey! How ya doin!?!" Then gives me a very enthusiastic slap on the back and continues on his way without breaking his stride.

It was one of those high charisma people moments. Where, for those three-ish seconds, in a crowded airport, he singled me out and made me feel like I was the only person who mattered.

Made my day. Especially after the long night of traveling.

A fond, 3ish second memory that I'll always remember fondly.

RIP, Mr. Uecker.
