The Janitor (John Kapelos) actually has a couple of autograph cards, but I haven't picked one up yet. The Criterion DVD/BluRay of "Breakfast Club" has numerous deleted scenes including one in which the Janitor just tears the students to shreds with a monologue of what they have to look forward to. I'm thinking it was cut because they never wanted Bender to not be the coolest guy in the room, but I'd have loved for Hughes to have left that in the movie.

Now I've owned several of these and just sold one like a week ago. But then I got a piece I need this to go with and ironically this popped up on ebay for less than I sold any of the others for.

Deborah Ann Woll dress used in True Blood. Whenever I get a prop I get something to go with it signed. Though I have been working on my charmed one for years now and the auto's I need just don't pop up at prices I can afford.

Beautiful card from day one, and could the dress be the same one that she's wearing on the card?
Have you tried it on yet? (Be careful, man!)
Very nice combo, congrats!

But thank you.

I love props.
I sometimes buy them cheap (uncredited) and try to match them up later.

Finding them photo matched like that can be a pain, unless you are paying for a prop that's "famous". I have a friend with a complete starship troopers "guy" uniform with the gun and all that. But whoever it was on was like a redshirt on Star Trek so it wasn't a huge amount of money.

I love props. I have some clothing items from How I Met your Mother, Parks and Rec, The Office, Mad Men, and New Girl; and a few items from Lost (no clothing). Half the fun is trying to screen-match them.

I especially like ties for some reason.

LOL.
This is a used prop tie from the TV series GRIMM (bought at the same official GRIMM auction), but I was never able to screen match it to any specific character. Oh well.

Put together this triple of Ramil Ibay sketches, all from MM2020.

I thought he did a real nice job in that set.

I’m thinking of submitting some large size Avengers Archives Cuts to COMC.they measure 8.5 x 11. Would this qualify as “oversized card” in the submission wizard? Or would this end up being something they won’t list?

I am slowly accumulating a growing inventory of unsupported items over at COMC and don’t want to add to them if possible.

Thanks!

I quickly searched COMC for "Avengers Cuts" and did not see any of these oversize cards in either current or "sold out."

Sadly, COMC may not support these.

I've been collecting older sketches recently, particularly from the following sets:

1998 Marvel Creators Collection
1998 Skybox Marvel: The Silver Age

Here are a few of my recent pickups:

Does anyone have any sketches from these particular sets that they'd be willing to share?

^ love the old sets.
What are you hoping to see (or learn)?
I can probably point you in the right direction.
For example, you can see a dozen by searching "Sketchagraph" on COMC, then click "sold out."

Yeah… those old sketches are cool. I came to the hobby a decade later and never picked any of these up. Wish I did when they were more prevalent and cheaper.

Those sketchagraphs are not a bad thing to collect tbh, historically they have been underrated, and more recently starting to gain lots of traction. I think they’ll be pretty coveted as time goes on.

I had a couple, which I have since moved. One a Buscema Surfer (he did a lot of this same Surfer portrait). Also had a Dick Ayers Hulk which I also sold.

^^^Uhhh...that Buscema Silver Surfer is f'ing rad!

I just picked up a Silver Surfer #1 comic (CGC 3.5). His cover on that is iconic.

Do you recall if any artists from those sets utilized any more advanced color/shading techniques?

I'm confused on something and y'all can explain it. So you can send in (almost) anything to be graded. What/how is the criteria for sketch cards when grading? Like what's part of the sketch and if the artists presses too hard and damages the surface, does that count as surface damage? I ask this because (google this the images make it make sense) if you want a PSA10 Wayne Gretzky rookie the entire left edge looks horribly messed up. It has to do with the way the cards were cut. All real 10's will have this feature. So do we just ignore the sketch or does it eventually end up grading it like an autograph? (like BGS does) Or does none of this make sense and I can shut up now lol.

One of my fav comic covers of all time.

That Surfer sketch doesn’t go for as much as you might think, because he did so many of that exact same sketch. The ol “repeat-o sketch”. Still, direct from the master of Surfer…very much a classic card. Looking back I kinda regret selling it.

Graded sketches as a concept is not really sensical to me. But I don’t think the companies have ever made it clear exactly what they deduct for or not with sketches. Kinda a roll of dice sending it in. I’m assuming they are grading the integrity of the card itself, rather than anything to do with the art or surface affected by the art. So grading worn corners, creases, that sort of thing. A bunch of artist media on the back probably counts against it, but again who knows. The concept of attaching a grade to the card itself for art is kinda silly, it’s like grading the Mona Lisa a PSA 7 or something because it has some corner or surface imperfections (that’s not the point of the art at all).

Although it would be kinda funny to see a company grade the actual quality of the art (wouldn’t put anything past these grading companies, maybe I shouldn’t give them ideas). Kinda like a 7th grade art teacher grading some kid’s art drawing. Higher quality the art, higher the grade. Now that would be pretty amusing, and quite controversial. On the label a grade for the card, and then below that grade for the sketch. 2022 Marvel masterpieces Hulk sketch, PSA 8, Art 6.

Thanks!

BTW… COMC does accept these. But they accidentally listed them as part of the 2014 Avengers set instead of the 2009 set (2 case incentive), so I need to have them edit description.
