Usually, both. You will have some empty ballots and some voting for the most qualified. This is typically where we can see vote spikes that could help eventual candidates or breathe life into someone down ballot. What we won’t see is a player like Ian Kinsler suddenly becoming viable. Think more like 2020 to 2021 when Helton and Rolen got big jumps.

But sometimes you get what happened in 2012 to 2013 where most everyone didn’t move at all and a lot of guys actually had their percentages drop.

Are they behind schedule? Isn't the reveal supposed to be at 3pm PST/6pm EST?

Ichiro, CC, and Wagner.
I guess they really wanted to put in more than just Ichiro this year.

I just watched it live.

Ichiro with 99.7
CC
Wagner

They said Carlos was around 70 percent and Jones a little over 60.

And of course they'll never come forward. I hate contrarians

Sounds like Beltran will make it then - especially if the ballot is weak next year like mentioned.

1 coward who wont make his ballot public and never come forward or say why is ridiculous. We know over half the ballots, now we just need someone to pimp the others for their ballots until we find the culprit---same with Jeter years ago

Congrats to Ichiro, Wagner and Sabathia.

You've got to chuckle at the one voter who didn't vote for Ichiro. Is Ichiro worthy of unanimous selection? No, not when much better candidates like Willie Mays weren't. But you've got to wonder the reason why the one voter didn't vote for him.

It's a great day for Mariano Rivera, who remains the only unanimous selection.
Congrats, Mo!

Yeah, that was a little joke.

Number of voters who didn't vote for the top percentage guys (besides the lone unanimous selection Rivera):

Gwynn: 13
Aaron, Brett: 9
Ripken: 8
Ryan: 6
Seaver: 5
Cobb: 4
Griffey, Jr: 3
Jeter, Ichiro: 1

Would love to know if it was the same writer who didn't vote for Jeter and now Ichiro.

Looking forward to Pujols being the next 99.7% inductee.

Hank Aaron not getting unanimous selection shows how messed up the voting can get. There had to have been something mentally wrong with the voters who didn't for vote for him.

Some imbecile who likely will remain anonymous. Perhaps Ichiro didn’t sign a ball or his interpreter was on a sick day and couldn’t do an interview.

The ding dong who didn’t vote for Jeter & Ichiro likely the same person (Griffey) and should have their privilege (not right) to vote taken away because they obviously don’t care enough to use it.

Sabathia is a no brainer HOFer.

He was an absolute horse. They don't make pitchers like him anymore.

One last voter hanging onto the idiotic logic of "my favorite player Mickey Mantle didn't get in unanimously, therefore <fill-in-the-blank> shouldn't either!"

But how do you explain Mariano Rivera getting unanimously voted on in 2019?

Maybe the same voter who withheld their vote for Ichiro also withheld their vote for Jeter?

Why Rivera? Pro-MAGA?

Completely disagree.....he was a horse, but a just above average one.

Only one season with an ERA below 3.00, and the second worst ERA of any inductee ever.

The disparity between him and Felix Hernandez is stunning...86.8% vs 20.6%.

The HOF has officially jumped the shark,

I hear talking heads making a case for Chase Freaking Utley to make it in.
