We’ve been to Gates and enjoyed it over time. Kauffman stadium is cool if you like baseball stadiums. Not sure if they do offseason tours. Negro leagues museum is worth your time too. Ask your local friends for their recommendations too of course. Hope you have an awesome trip and experience!

Don't get me wrong, Gates and Arthur Bryants are still VERY good, but their best days are behind them IMO). Depending where you are staying, there's Legends on the Kansas side and the Power and Light district downtown if you're into bar hopping. KC is like any other big city. There are casinos on the north end of town. Oak Park is the "good" mall. There are museums (Negro League is a good one), and tons of other good places to eat (Diners Drive-ins and Dives type places).
They're just known as Joe's BBQ now? Back when I was in KC (2010 maybe?), there was only that one location in the gas station, and I'm pretty sure it was called Oklahoma Joe's. Did they chop off the "Oklahoma?"

Yup Oklahoma has been dropped. It's just Joe's KC now. BUT I still call it "OK Joes." It's honestly my favorite BBQ spot here in KC. It's amazing.

It’s now “Joe’s Kansas City BBQ” but yes it used to be Oklahoma Joe’s.

BBQ recommendations are spot on. The Country Club Plaza is an amazing collection of shops/food and super walkable if you want a great place to kill time. Westport district also has some cool bars. Also the Nelson Atkins Art museum was one of my favorite places to visit when I lived there (if nothing else you can get a photo of yourself next to one of the iconic gigantic badminton birdie sculptures outside). I absolutely loved KC, the one thing I will say is to stay on the beaten path. There are definitely parts of town you don’t want to find yourself in.

Haha yea that’s the technically correct term. I got used to calling it a birdie because I teach middle school P.E. and our students simply can’t handle the word shuttlecock

2 more sleeps.

Enormous game. Legacy defining. Immortality hanging the balance.

On the one hand Patty has an unprecedented trip to his 5th super bowl. Undefeated against Allen in the playoffs.

2 celebrity hearts on a collision course for a marriage proposal at the Super Bowl.

On the other hand Superman might finally avenge all the heartbreaks of winters past.

The Mafia set to take control of the league again.

Weather won't be a factor. Just 2 great teams squaring off in trench warfare.

The anticipation is almost more exciting than the actual game.

2 more sleeps.

Going to be hard to sleep both nights … just seems every post season gets bigger n bigger .. I want this 3 peat so bad..it’s a feather in the cap that other teams can’t claim and unlikely going forward …

Surprise to see a 3 color green NT 75k vs a barely 2 color holo silver NT 72k..historically these two parallels are the least desirable ones …that being said, the same holo one sold 10 months ago for 42k, great sale

I don't know why for the first time in a long time I don't feel as nervous about this game. I am usually a wreck. The Chiefs are completely healthy. Fully dialed in. I like our secondary against these WR. So I think it's basically can we put a spy on Allen the entire game and try to stop Cook from getting 5-6 yards on 1st down and stop Allen from scrambling on every 3rd down. Then the offense just needs to put some points on the board. I expect us to lose the turnover battle -1 and hopefully that won't be the difference. I would like to not leave the game in Butker's hands. I have a bad feeling about that.

Sleep well friends.

It seemed like a brain fart during the regular season match-up to not spy Allen on that pivotal 4th down play. I hope Spags has either learned from it or it was intentional during the regular season to set up some things for a post-season rematch.

Chanel and Bolton are great guys to spend time spying Allen. Athletic and smart - should be able to get him down most of the time.

Realistically...there's nothing but upside to this game.

Even with a loss, the streak of 7 straight AFC title games persists. 3 Super Bowls are already won. And the team is still in great roster/draft capital/cap space position to keep winning in the near future.

Add to all of this that Allen finally beating the Chiefs would finally set up a worthy rivalry...it's not the end of the world if they lose.

That being said, a chance at a 3 peat would be awesome

At the beginning of the season I was thinking just getting back to the AFCC would be a huge win considering how most teams seeking a 3-peat had faired AND considering how good the AFC is with Allen, Lamar, Burrow, even Rodgers.

That being said, now obviously I want the full 3-peat.

If the Chiefs don't win on Sunday, I would not mind seeing Allen hoist a trophy and certainly would not mind the Commanders. I absolutely do not want the Eagles to win it all. Can't stand Siriani!

A Bills/Commanders Super Bowl would be one I could just sit back, relax, not get nervous about, and be a fan of for once, rather than spending half time pacing around my back yard with the Chiefs down 10.

Basically I get to be a sports rube watching the Super Bowl for a change.

Are we forgetting the unspeakable equity added to this matchup this weekend, we could be free of ∆ for a year! Screw the 3-peat haha

I don’t know about ya but that 3 peat would put mahomes in a different stratosphere…the chances of them doing a 3 peat in the future is slim to none, so this opportunity is a unique one…I know how much Pat/Travis wants it…we need it as fans also

The media is giving Mahomes an "out" if he plays like crap and the Chiefs lose...

Supposedly his grandfather was just put into hospice and isn't expected to make it much longer

How is that 'giving him an out'?

Is it made up and not happening?

I think is Out is that he has 3 other Super Bowl MVPs

I don't understand his post. Two things. First, if his grandfather does pass away, I have no doubt it would fuel Mahomes (a la Brett Favre). Second, if it somehow did affect his play, it wouldn't be "the media giving him an 'out'." It will be completely understandable.

Great recommendations for KC! Looks like I got plenty of BBQ to check out in the next 48 hours and a couple neat districts to go to.
