Now that all the 2024 rookie QB's are done with the season, I'm curious to hear everyone's thoughts:
1. Which of them has the highest upside in the league? 2. Which of them is the most slept on so far in the hobby?

Hard to say, I am open to see where they all go to.
I will say that NONE of them had a great arsenal of weapons, so hard to say what the might have done. On paper you could say that Penix does, but he came in near the end of the season, so that doesn't count. MCCarthy has JJ, Addison, and Hockenson, but he didn't play at all. Maye had next to nothing, the worst situation for weapons. Caleb gets a pass because, his team exploded, I want to give him a mulligan, and I am not even a big fan of his. I think Daniels and Nix clearly have the highest upside based on what they did in their rookie seasons without much in the way of weapons. Nix had NO TE, and NO RB. Daniels was throwing to a hodge podge of WRs, save Ertz and McLauren. You give both of these guys a couple more big weapons, I would not be shocked to see a Commanders/Bronocs super bowl before long |

To answer the 2ns part of your question, Penix was the most slept on. A week before he first started when there were just whispers of Cousins getting benched, I went on a Penix buying spree, and stuff was CHEAP! Way cheaper than JJ, and he was out the whole year with an injury. I loaded up on Nix from early on, and he certainly went up in price as the year moved along, but he was never real cheap. Same with Jayden, Drake, and Caleb.

Caleb Williams has the highest upside - I don't personally think he achieves it - but if he does? He will be the best of the bunch. I simply don't think he does but that won't be a first for the highest upside guy
Maye is the most slept on. That dude is going to be a baller. New England is just so god awful that it'll take some time I would absolutely be buying Maye cards over Williams (again - I just won't predict he hits his upside even if I think it's the highest), Daniels (simply because of hype), Nix, McCarthy etc...

Sometimes good to read before a new thread...
https://www.blowoutforums.com/showthread.php?t=1604509 ...I would say Rattler or Maye. They are physically gifted and need some tools/coaching. But they have the biggest upside. "Safe pick" probably Caleb or Nix or Penix as they were most accomplished in NCAA. Daniels got results this rook year, but his play style is not conducive to a long or healthy career. We shall see. |
