I'm finally starting to get a little nervous for the game. I still don't feel as much pressure as last year, when it seemed like securing that 3rd championship was a huge cement block in the foundation of his legacy. But...nerves are starting to kick in for sure. I believe the game plan will be to make Jalen beat them in the air, which some people think is easy but I personally think he throws a really nice ball and he's got some monster WRs. The goal will be to have him hang in the pocket too long, which he often does, and get a few sacks and TOs. I think it'll be another nail biter. Can't wait!

Also, my banger is supposed to show up tomorrow. Can't find any on ebay and only one sold in the last year that I can find.

Just chill, it's completely out of your control, I understand the nerves when watching it, but relax, enjoy your weekend and reflect on all the stuff Patty has already done for you. Think of this SB as a bonus and not a necessity. Sure I want them to win (and I think they will), but it's not going to destroy either of us if they don't. I'm going to have a great weekend regardless, but a win would definitely be the cherry on top, it's out of my hands and no need to worry about it.

Hmm, that's actually not a terrible buy, I'd be tempted to crack 2 boxes of it and think I could come out ahead depending on pulling Mahomes inserts and a base that could gem. I wish BO was more realistic with their Donruss Mega pricing, each Mega has 3 hobby packs.

Those 2017 base donruss are about $1k-1.2k per box, depending on if you buy a box or a case. Classic Mahomes RC 327.

You can get Optic retail box for about 50% more (24pk of 4 cards).

I find it disturbing that some big card sellers still have cases of 18 boxes those boxes of base Donruss, though.
Market has decided that's classic OG Mahomes rook card, but really big print run and big pop reports.

Yeah, but it's not that simple. It's the NFL, man... not for long.

I like KC plan and team, but injury to Pat or key others can always derail things. It's a rough game.
He's in his prime, but many a promising dude was cut down hard and fast (Luck, Keuchly, Tua, Bo Jackson, Sterling Sharpe, tons of ACL/knee RBs, etc).

Championships aren't won until they are won.
Stats don't just extrapolate without earning each one.
A career's not over til it's over (and sometimes, status is still vulnerable even then... ask MJ, Favre, Clem, Pete Rose, etc etc).

I feel ya man, my nerves are kicking in too. A loss obviously wouldn't negate everything Mahomes has done to this point, but a win would be so HUGE. And he realistically won't ever have another chance at a 3-peat again (although you never know...). All of his Super Bowl wins have been extremely close (not to mention almost every win they've had this entire season) so I'm expecting the same from this one. Should be super fun, can't wait!

Optic retail is terrible. I'd definitely rather go for the Donruss box if my goal was to make money. Optic Mega is better than Optic retail as well.

Nothing is really off the table with Mahomes. I said at the beginning of the season when people were upset about the lack of stats that I'd really just like to see the historic 3 peat, and now we're one game away. Hopefully it happens.

I do remember that. I didn't care quite as much about his stats this year as I usually do, especially later on in the season (although I do admit I did some complaining, I'm sure it's in writing somewhere on here...). The 3-peat is all that matters. Hopefully next season we will be talking about a 4-peat!

Mahomes needs to start putting up stats (reg season).

He really hasn't done a lot in the past couple years.
Winning and value or not... pro bowl, all pro, mvp, opoy, etc are all mostly stat based. Records are obviously stats-based.

Not that he needs to have stats (we know he can and has done it) or not saying he had the weapons/OL to do it lately (best 2 WR hurt by week 4 this year)... but that lack of stats WILL matter to cement his legacy as some future QBs will get a whole career of 17 and 18 game - then all 18 game - seasons.

I'm not complaining. If I can grab ANY hobby box of Patty in a pro uni for 1k or less, I will absolutely take it.

If Mahomes keeps winning Super Bowls, absolutely NO ONE will care about his stats.

Stats are definitely very important, but I think this year in particular, winning the Super Bowl overwhelmingly trumps everything. Technically, getting the 3-peat could be considered a stat.
