Crazy thing is if you search Andrew Fry sketch Srar Wars on eBay, he has sketch cards going back 7-8 years at least, and you can see him getting progressively better at sketches over time. It's very cool.

I’ve pulled a few Fry’s over the years..I think his stuff plays really well in this “oversized” 5x7 format..I always liked his stuff..the only picture I have right now is of this Rey from (I think 2022) Masterwork:

Also of note—an Ashley Marsh Darth Maul just popped up on eBay. Marsh always paints the sketches, I was looking forward to seeing what she did, check it out:

Here’s one I hit of Marsh from CZX Middle Earth:

Also--On the metal cards--

The "Base set" is 90 cards, 60 "base" cards and 30 "metal cards" (the metal are of the bigger characters). With the estimated 1,020 boxes, and the odds at 1:34 for metal gold and platinum 1/1's, I estimate there are

22 of each base metal card
10 of each red metal (as stated, with odds at 1:4)
1 gold metal
1 platinum metal

Is any card actually worth the sale of the box? I saw a break last night on what not and it was $800 a spot for 2 box break, 9 total spots, so you got two cards. Two good cards were pulled with the best a /25 mandalorian pascal auto.

$3k cards in this would probably be limited to 1/1 Pascals, 1/1 Knightleys, 1/1 Samuel L.'s, 1/1 Oscar Isaacs, and the booklet autos....Maybe 1/1 Simon Pegg and 1/1 Edgerton's since they had not signed before..

I'd expect quite a few sketches would fetch $3k, the Penix/Meeks/Marsh/Mines/Alce type artists..

Edit: Josh Trout, Carlos Cabaleiro are 2 other artists who should command big dollars once/if they surface…

Thanks for the info. I’ll continue to watch the breaks. It is fun to watch.

That pencil sketch does resemble Rey, but it's a bit skeletal and where is her hair?

And actually, take back what I said about him getting better - it I looked again on eBay and it appears he has some beauties going back quite a few years, it looks like it depends on how much time he spends. The first couple are ones that look like he rushed on - the second two are ones he took his time on, all from the last four years or so.

You can see the progression of likely time spent - Less to More

Sorry to be tardy circling back to this, but...let's say the breakers/dealers are unhappy with no getting a specific product. Why would that ever stop them from buying the next one? Would they ever pass in this current market? I say no chance.

But collectors will pass after cruddy treatment. And unlike breakers they are essential to the hobby.

Obviously the reality is reality and what has happened, happened. It's just dumb.

Anyway, looking forward to this summer when I can pick off some of the 1977 autos at a fraction of the $350+ break buy-ins.

Almost all cases I have seen have been brutal for 3200

To be honest many are not good at 1500

But this was very good ….

This is my first and likely only purchase from Galactic Antiquities. I won it at auction tonight for $1100, and based on the completed listings, I’m pretty happy to get it at that price. The final scene of my favorite movie

Not trying to bad talk any character sketches, but these oversized scene sketches are particularly awesome. The extra space seems so well spent recerating these memorable moments.

Congrats on buying that one, ESB is my favorite movie as well.

Some of the sketches hitting eBay have been wonderful, just great pieces of art.

The sketches really are the chase in this I believe (outside of the booklets and a few of the 1/1 Portmans, etc).

Hopefully this opens the door to them doing this for more sets.

These boxes have dried up fast. Recent sales this week close to 4k and only one listing that I see on ebay for 4.5k from DA.

I regret not investing in a box at 2.5k when they first released. Would have thrown it in the closet and forget about. Could really be a unique Star Wars collectible down the line.

Yes indeed---once I realized there were no redemptions, I bought 2 at 3200 and tucked them away, they will be out of sight/out of mind. I opened 2 when it released as well (page 10 in this thread). I'm a huge Star Wars guy, and regret not getting Stellar years ago..the oversized sketches really made me interested, plus the first on-card autos of guys like Oscar Isaac and Simon Pegg.

Edit: Joel Edgerton's first on-card autos as well I think
