Another cash grab? Sticker dump? Or was it so good on basketball that they decided to release it on Football too?

These would be a lot more cooler if they relegated it to just bass/silver/green/gold/finite like the originals.

Instead, they ran the gamut on the 38475 different Prizmania color variants to fill DEI quotas.

Big smh.

Most likely never. Just as there'll always be high rollers at the slots, there'll be guys overpaying to get rinsed on high end. So long as the loss as divided amongst their peers to give them a false sense of loss-copium.

I’d love to go back and rip some $60-$80 Topps chrome hobby. Those prices get you retail these days. I bought some Prizm this year but all retail. Not even sure if it will hold value. But I’ll sell it down the road unopened. It’s just not worth opening anything these days. It’s why I buy singles or buy/hold retail to sell. I get the itch and open a blaster or mega every once in a while. But you know it’s going to be a bloodbath their last year.

yup, watching the newest prizm nba fotl getting ripped is really tough. Noone to chase but price still sky high. Most boxes wont even have 100$ of cards back

Some of these people who break are serious, serious addicts. Like to the point that their family would have an intervention for them if they were spending that kind of money on drugs or alcohol.

I see on YouTube shorts a ton a stocky guy called Lootbox TV, and dude will almost on the daily have to rip something - $240 worth of Wal-Mart mega boxes, $1500 8-card pack of Prizm Choice - and it always kills me - he hits a silver Jayden Daniels rookie variation out of it - and says he sold it for $300 - so I left in the comments - why sell the biggest hits?

He replied back "I don't PC Jayden Daniels." So you're ripping $1,000s of dollars of wax to get PC players?

Look, it's his money - some rich dudes throw it away on women, cars, booze, cigars ... and some on wax. But if you're going to throw it away on wax, at least keep the decent cards you hit ... don't just sell them to buy more wax and sell anything decent you have on WhatNot or back to the card shop to buy more wax in a never ending cycle to the point that eventually all you have is crap cards...

It is the dopamine hit for getting a big card. You have to sell to fund the next rip. I don't get it either, if they step back and see how much money is going out compared to coming in, it is likely very eye opening.

I see people bragging about a big hit at my local card shop. I just sold this hit for $800 on ebay. Forgetting they bought two $900 boxes to get it. There has to be a bunch of high balance credit cards out there - paying 20+ % interest no less on these breaks. You will never get out from under that with more breaks unless you hit a streak of case hits or something.

The point of deca for basketball was the 10-year anniversary of the first set.. hence “deca”. They missed this window two years ago for football, beyond a cash grab to me

I don't care that the Deca name makes no sense. I don't care if folks think it's a cash grab. I buy dirt cheap singles at shows and online, they're not grabbing my cash on their overpriced product.

With that said, simply as a collector who is very nostalgic over 2011-2013 NFL cards, I will be building a set of this.

This also explains why 2022 and 2023 Prizm had 2012 Flashbacks but 2024 randomly jumped to 2024 because Deca was using the 2012 design.

Call me crazy, but they should have made this a Prizm Chronicles of sorts. Use all of the previous Prizm designs instead of just the OG.
