I know the hardcore Punk haves been crying saying he needs to be added to Cody/Cena match so he can main event WM but that's not happening as the focus needs to be just them two not add anyone. Also this way you can have Heyman return the favor by helping Punk win during the match. After WM you can have Punk say it's time I move on and look towards the WWE title and you end up with Punk vs Cena at SummerSlam.
I second this take by Justin. The stakes just aren't there to match the level of a WrestleMania. Any other PLE and I'm good, but WM is the grandest stage of them all and the main event matches should live up to that. This match wouldn't. They're going "blood feud", but Seth and Roman have been at it for years and there are no extra stakes for this one. The glue of the match is Punk as he has a brand new blood feud with Seth and Heyman intrigue with Roman. It would be much better as a 1 v 1 for Punk against either opponent.

Im not a fan of a Punk/Seth/Roman match. I'd prefer Punk/Roman or Seth/Roman. I honestly think having Uso win the Rumble screwed up a lot of things they could have done at Mania

Has there been a two-night Mania that actually had a card full of Mania worthy matches?

When I see Omos getting two matches, Dom and Rey having multiple matches, them doing 4-way tag showcase matches, and the like, it's hard to say it's not watered down.

I understand not wanting a 5+ hour show for one night, but you're only getting like 60-70%

There's only been like four two-night Manias and some were during Covid lol

Every Mania has filler, don't tell me X-Factor Vs Steve Blackman/Grandmaster Sexay was a highlight of the "best" mania of all-time Wrestlemania 17.

By that standard (every Mania has SOME filler) I'd argue last year's fits the bill to answer the question. Uso match stunk but was Mania worthy for the storyline and the tag-matches were the only real non-mania matches.

Conflicting reports on Shinsuke Nakamura..

Word was he was done with WWE, hence the title switch to LA Knight...but that was supposedly "debunked"

Word now..he is done and will sit out his contract, and the rush to change the title- which was suppose to happen at WM, was rushed due to "disinterest"

Didn't his father just die or something like that?

I could understand losing your passion for whatever after losing a parent...

And it's not like they were using him well anyway...

If he's sitting out the rest of his contract, he's going back to Japan, there's no way we see him in AEW...

Good NXT last night. Hardys looked good against Frazer/Axiom, and Vaquer walks out as the double womens champion. I think Vaquer has looked far far better than Guilia

Reading the SD Spoilers sounds like a really lazy effort on the part of WWE. 99% garbage and 1% mehh that didn't really add anything new to the Cody/Cena/ Rock bit.

I do find it strange that in all this Cody doesn't seem the least bit mad or pissed off at the Rock it's all towards Cena. If it was anyone else say Reigns or Rollins they would be out to destroy everyone involved not just 1 guy.

.

they probably don't think too much build up is necessary plus add to that we might realistically only see Cena or Rock make an appearance on TV once or twice until Wrestlemania week

Wonder if they could bring Miz into the Cena/Rock vs Cody storyline. Cena and Rock won't be on TV each week so have Miz be there henchman who delivers messages for them and orders attacks on Cody leading up to WM.

Nobody crying about WWE being biased towards black wrestlers this morning after The Street Profits became the new token Tag Team Champions ? They even threw in a black referee for style points.

ah, Smackdown seemed a bit of a boring card so I switched to something else before the tag match begun.

I am very disinterested heading into WM. The show, both products, are stale.

Still got weeks before WM you do want to go 100% to early burn it out before you even get to WM.

Turning Cena heel is something has not been done in 20 years. You want stale watch AEW

This may label more under WCW but not really worthy of it's own thread but a bunch of legends etc did a livestream to help raise money for Brian Knobbs:

I'm kind of surprised Hogan isn't taking care of it when they are good buddies though, as much as he's not liked now you always heard he looked out for his pals

Yeah but slow rolling and parking the car in the garage for 50 years are 2 different things.

If you aren't going to have guys like Rock and Cena live at minimum have them cut taped promos. There is absolutely no excuse 2 weeks after EC that we haven't gotten a statement from Cena on why he did what he did. Yes he's going to be live on Raw tomorrow but I have no confidence we get any movement on the storyline other than Cody spends the whole episode looking for Cena backstage only to attack him right as he's about to speak and show ends with the refs/security trying to break u the chaos.

7 weeks is way to long in between PPV's the 3-4 week mark has always been the sweet part but for some reason they have this idea that fans want storylines to drag on and on and on. Everything doesn't nor should it be like The Bloodline Story that lasts for years.

I won't be surprised if they have Cena once again come out on Raw just stand there for a minute or two let the crowd go nuts booing him and just leave the ring without saying a word.

Hogan is too busy pimping his "real american" beer, showing up hours late to the meet and greets, not signing anything that isn't related to the beer and then leaving early...

Just watching Smackdown now. Fun crowd, love the Street Profits winning the titles, always been a fan, I still don't think the heel turn will work, it failed miserably last time. They are just too likable. Everything else was kinda meh. I like Priest and McIntyre but hard to feel invested in the feud. Bloodline dynamic is so weird because Solo is just so ice cold. Almost feels like he may be dead in the water. Everything Chelsea Green does is fantastic.

Jacob Fatu has passed up Solo. Solo pretty much is headed to be a midcard guy.

I think it was clear when Fatu debuted that would happen, but I don't think it's Fatu as much as Solo lost all his momentum when he lost to Roman. It just hurt him far more than I personally expected.

Solo's main event status was always going to be temporary until Roman took back the ula fala but I actually think Solo's character is really interesting right now. He's not the typical heel faction leader who only cares about himself, he seems like he's genuinely trying to lift up Jacob. I'm sure one of them will eventually turn on the other but for now I'm enjoying the dynamic between them.
