Thank goodness for Hans, the reasonable eBay rep. It's ridiculous you even had to go that far when there was tracking confirmation of the delivery.

Have had 2 cases in past week where package gets stuck in Indiana for a week, annoying ebay isn't automatically delaying cases by a week with weather

On an ESE claim? Can I just hit to refund them? Or do I let it play out?

Just refund and then file PIP claim.

i HAD ONE FROM the end of January going to Indianapolis. It was stuck between here and there in Richmond when he contacted me and then It showed in Chicago before getting stuck again. Buyer ended up like I told them to file a claim and I refunded. then it moved again and I was like dang it hit 2 more hubs before it hit the one in Indianapolis where it still sits. PIP was filed12 days ago and I got my refund 3 days ago.

Check to make sure it wasn't actually delivered before you refund.

I did. This one didn't update at all through Ebay, but the other workaround had it last scanned awhile back

Things have definitely been slower than expected lately. I mostly sell graded. Normally things are booming during tax refund season. I'm going to try a refresh and cleaning up my listings to see if that helps. If things stay slow, combined with PSA's price increase, I may cool off on submitting. I have about 300 or so ready to go, but I don't want to get stuck with a bunch of slabs at $20 if they're not going to move. Hopefully I just angered the eBay algorithm and can win it's approval back.

Cut it possibly be that the hobby is in or is entering a junk slab era?

Hadn't checked my Buyer Requirements Activity Log in awhile... had a few blocked from my recent batch of 7 day auctions because of too many unpaid item strikes. Imagine that.

It might be. I'm not sure if people having access to PSA grading through Gamestop is making them less likely to buy on eBay. My older brother who never graded cards before has graded about 100 cards through Gamestop for himself and his two kids already (mostly Pokemon & WWE).

Google says there are 2,915 Gamestop stores in the US. Say a store averages 50 cards a week:
2,915 x 52 weeks x 50 a week = 7,579,000 a year

If the average is less than 50 a week, we're still talking millions of more slabs out there. Even if a percentage of the people subbing through Gamestop would have subbed directly through PSA, more new people are entering the grading game through Gamestop as it removes the barriers of how to do an order/shipping/membership fees.

The economy is a factor too. The Federal Reserve came out with an estimate of USA's GDP for Q1 2025 and it was -2.8%, so going backwards for the first time since Q1 2022. I think people are scared about tariffs, trade wars, whatever else, combined with cumulative inflation/flat income and have slowed down spending. Just my .02 cents.

Is there a way on eBay to pull a sales report by year?

A post office did me absolutely dirty on a ton of my ESE orders. I typically use the same 3 local post offices for everything, however work commitments had my using this other post office for 2 days as they are right across the street from my building. I have a nearly 100% success rate on ESE, however this specific post office decided to absolutely bend/fold almost every single order that I dropped off on 3/11. I have been receiving very disgruntled messages from buyers all day today and just having them opening cases so I can refund immediately. I think they understand my explanation, no bad feedback, but definitely an extremely frustrating situation, especially as they were all recently listed Don Mattingly, Tony Gwynn, and some reverse holo Pokemon cards.

Wouldnt PIP insurance honor any claims made from that as damage?

They should, but you're still out shipping paid and have some unhappy customers.

The PIP claim should and now the PIP allows for 2 additional photo uploads so if a buyer claims damage and can add a picture you can also load the actual damage as well.

Paid for: January 14th, 2025
Refunded: Februay 12th, 2025
Arrived: March 15, 2025

This is a $600 order. A blessing in one way, because I'm running out of fresh inventory. A curse in another, because the reason I'm running out of fresh inventory is because I haven't been buying due to time constraints.

Slabs are hotter than ever but, yes, there are segments that one could consider "junk", at least relative to the price of the grading service. I'm especially talking about base Topps rookies in the last 10 years with a few exceptions. I've had no problem getting fair prices overall for top flight players (Judge, Harper, Freeman, Ohtani) of most any card type. The second tier popularity players (think Alonso, Lindor, Machado, Seager) are pretty weak right now. I have hundreds or potential gems just sitting in boxes because it's not worth $20 per card to grade that stuff. Maybe it will at some point down the road (like what happened with a lot older Griffey and Pujols stuff) but I won't hold my breath waiting for those card prices to jump or grading costs to drop.

For those of you with an eBay store, you have less than 2 weeks to use your coupon for supplies before the 1st quarter ends. I know some don't use it, but for those who do, don't forget.
