Just dropped 600 on a 2018 Topps Gold 700 PSA 8. Kicking myself for not sealing the deal on a 9 at the Nashville show, but I absolutely had to have this card for the long term and it may not get any cheaper.

Thanks brother! I finally pulled the trigger on 700 and had to get over it not having the hitting image and realized it’s always going to be the iconic Topps Ohtani image. I find that we seem to gravitate towards a lot of similar cards.

The 2018 Bowman’s Best Performers Atomic is also on my buy list for quality Ohtani affordable on a teacher salary (for now). I honestly like too many players across too many sports to stockpile much of anyone…without using a credit card at least. Budgets are awesome and awful at the same time haha.

I sold off some Ohtani to fund some vintage purchases recently. I'm sure his cards will explode in value this season because I did so. You're welcome HODLers (btw, I'm still holding plenty myself).

I would also ROA (actually I did in December). I sold my Finest PSA 9 auto and used that plus some other funds to buy a BGS 9.5 TG+ Blue Ink ROA. Its just such a gorgeous card. Also, I think autos on paper will likely hold up over the long term better than on chromium.

I know Bowman’s Best isn’t a highly regarded set, but I’ve just always like the card for some reason, BUT I love the ROA and it sounds like there is a clear consensus. If I can make it happen I will and will share it here.

I’m getting out of the card game and have sold everything but this one card, doesn’t seem right to not have a Shohei rookie auto in the safe.

My son and I started collecting and PCing Shohei in 2022/2023. We began trying to accumulate as many versions of the 2023 series 2 cards as possible (my son’s favorite Shohei image.) It’s been quite the journey so far finding most on Ebay at decent prices along with scoring big at the 2023 National finding the Mother's and Father's Day and trading for the Clear /10. We also were able to purchase the printing plate for half the price of what the owner was originally asking after talking with him for over a year. He decided to sell it through a consigner which ended up working out for us. We’re still looking for a few more, obviously some of the most expensive ones.
