Alec Bohm is good at baseball. I don’t care what anyone says…

Good to see him get off to a good start.

He’s super popular with the ladies. All of my old female relatives, at least.

Same Phillies…

80% of the game spent swinging out of the zone for a strikeout
20% of the game jumping on the first pitch and hitting it out of the stadium.

Maybe the most impressive thing was Alvarado and Strahm.

They typify baseball in 2025. Though, I would not be surprised if they end up being better than the heavily favored Dodgers.

Need a pulse check on this thread. Phils just destroyed the “best” team in baseball. Played some small ball to win the first and then drew 11 walks to win the rubber match. Sosa is proved to be an everyday guy. Avarado getting it done also. We need to drop off Romano at the nearest goodwill. Ohtani looked pretty average against us. GO PHILS!

Pretty liberal with your use of "destroy," don't ya think? They won the series 2-1, at home, and the Phil's two wins were one run games. I think what the Yankees did to the Brewers is much more along the lines of "destroy."

Great weekend for the Phils!

Still 6 months away from the games that matter. Take home message here is that the Phils are not making it difficult for themselves so far this year, thankfully.

What kind of power we think Bryce has this year? Between the last half of 2024 and the start of this year, its been lacking.

I'd be surprised if he sniffs 30 HRs again.

Philadelphia Phillies closer José Alvarado has been suspended 80 games by Major League Baseball after failing a performance-enhancing drug test.

The suspension, which is effective immediately, will also prevent him from pitching in the postseason

meanwhile, however, it was great to see Mick Abel shine in his debut- 6 IP, 9 Ks, O R… particularly encouraging was his command, throwing 62/84 pitches for strikes, with 0 BB and only 5 scattered hits.

Time to start thinking about the trade deadline!

Would love to see them add two strong relievers for the back-end of the bullpen, and add one OF so we can dump Max Kepler.

Been seeing a lot of rumblings that they might be working on a trade with Cleveland for Clase and Kwan… would LOVE to see that.

I’d prefer to keep Crawford, Painter and Tait but would part with Abel, Aidan Miller, Aroon Escobar and pretty much any other prospects…

Adding Kwan on top of Clase would be wild

Yeah. Wow. Hope that happens! I love Kwan. He'd be a great fit for this team.

Agree- it would be nice to see the lineup slug a little more, but they seem to be winning more via small-ball this year. Kwan would be a nice fit because he makes a lot of contact- would definitely be an improvement over Kepler

They have to move one or two of the big prospects at the deadline. Don't stand pat like the past few years. Core is aging, have to go all in.

Love the trade for Jhoan Duran, and I don’t mind that he cost Abel and Tait since he’s under control through 2027.

Wonder if the Phillies are also in on Jarren Duran… then we’d have to start playing ‘Hungry Like the Wolf’ at every home game

Would actually like to see them get Steven Kwan and maybe one more steady arm for the bullpen. We just gotta dump Max Kepler and guys like Romano, Max Lazar, Daniel Robert, Seth Johnson, etc.

Ecstatic with the trade. Can't wait for this in CBP

Duran’s a beast. Hopefully he does well under the bright lights in October and November. That’s all that really matters in a trade like this.

Nice W!

Duran's intro in CBP was electric.

We were there last night. It was nice seeing a closer come in and not making things interesting in the 9th, especially after the come back they made with the bats. My wife was waiting in line to use the bathroom in the Hall of Fame section and high fived Mike Schmidt, Ruben Amaro Jr, and Charlie Manuel when they walked by.
