Default Proper Way to Ship a Relic Card

Would like to sell a few inexpensive relic cards I've accumulated. Do the relics need to be placed in a properly sized penny sleeve before going into a 168pt toploader? Thanks in advance.

Default International Express Questions

Hello,

I live in Chicago and am supposed to receive a card shipped from Australia. I have the tracking information which shows the package was, "Received by customs for clearance - Chicago" five days a go.

Is this long delay common?

At what point do I report to Pay Pal that I haven't received the card?

Any help would be appreciated.

Best,
Brian

So I won several auctions from the same eBay seller who charged $10.00 to ship each auction. I pay for each auction and pay the separate shipping, the shipping winds up costing $50 total. The seller then combines shipping so that he only pays $10.00 total...but does not issue a $40 refund.

Is this against eBay rules, and if so, where is this stated on eBay’s site? If it’s there I just keep missing it. Thanks.

Looking to get back into selling on Ebay after being dormant for over 6 years. How are people selling commons now adays? PWE with ebay shipping? Or do you go the "Armalope" route?

A seller is not required to combine shipping but if he is not then each item should be shipped separately, but it's not an official rule.

Best to see if they combine before bidding

Yeah, thanks. I didn’t mind paying the inflated, separate shipping price, but I believe I’m owed a refund if the seller then decides to combine.

Why hasnt Ebay lets ESUS sellers know that shipping is NO longer .63 cents ? I have had several come postage due ( yeah the USPS is hard up for that extra .50 cents) As a buyer it is a hassle to go the PO wait in line just to pay for the extra postage because of this - I am going to start leaving negs to all of the ones that charge 1.11 or more and then ship it .63 Its the only way they will learn their lesson to affix postage for what they charge the buyer

It is still 63 cents as long as the weight is less than 1 oz. If you're being charged postage due, then your seller sent something overweight and they should definitely be responsible for that. I ship well over 200 cards a month in 63 cent ESEs with no issues.

That is the issue the postmaster is likely a stickler for the rules and is misinterpreting them or really stretching them. Many will label cards in a top loader as non-Machinable which carries an additional charge even if it would generally pass at the 63 cents. You just have a PO that is overstepping. Not uch you can do about it but not necessarily the sellers fault.

I thought so -- so stupid they think it cant be tracked or marked delivered either - though some have come W/O postage due several times

I avoid shipping internationally on eBay for my own personal preferences. At some point, it looks like I was automatically enrolled in the eBay International Shipping Program. Despite this, I always select every non-USA country in my excluded shipping locations. Somehow, I received an offer from someone in Italy. When I go to edit my item, it shows correctly with which countries I exclude. When clicking on the listing itself, it shows that I do in fact ship to other countries. Does this have anything to do with eBay International Shipping?

The easy answer for me would be to just decline the offer, but the concern is that a non-USA buyer could outright purchase the item.

My question is: for those of you who do use this program, does the screen where you accept/deny an offer show anything different? I have attached what I am currently seeing, which shows nothing about the program.

Any feedback is appreciated!

I never had any issues or problems with the Ebay international shipping program. If a card goes missing, then it's Ebay's fault. Happened to me twice - I have shipped hundreds overseas...
I don't know why you avoid shipping internationally.

Howdy, looking for opinions... when shipping a single slab, what is your price point where you don't use a padded envelope but instead use a box?

Hi guys, I just recently started selling some cards on eBay, mostly cheaper cards that fall under $20 and use ESE. I will be shipping out my first 130 point card in a few days and I dont anticipate it selling for more than $10. I listed shipping as $1.25 but then didn't know if shipping that thick of a card with ESE would work/be best. It will be just under the 1/4" limit. I think I may have to pay a little extra for non machineable. Just wondering what everyone else's experiences were. Depending on what the auction ends at I might just eat the cost and ship in a bubble mailer using ground advantage. Even though it's a inexpensive card, I'm looking to avoid any possible issues. Didn't even think about this when I listed it.

Thanks!

Answering my own question in case it can help someone else. I purchased an ESE for $1.25 for this card after it sold from eBay. Put in an Armalope envelope, card was in a top loader and sandwiches between a folded piece of thin cereal box cardboard. Thickness was probably around 1/16" less than 1/4". Brought it to the post office and asked to upgrade it non machineable. The total weight of the envelope was 1.5 oz and with the non machineable surcharge it cost an extra 22 cents to ship. In the future I'll list these cards at $1.50 shipping. I have shipped a few cards non machineable before because some post office workers will say it requires it (I like to drop off all my cards right off at the desk). They say non machineable will not pick up any scans but I've definitely seen some of my non machineable stuff pick up scans.

Either way, you do get a receipt showing the additional postage with the town/city, state and ZIP code of where the card is going. Not definitive proof that it shipped but it's something. I also reached out to the buyer letting them know that it shipped non machineable.
