A lot of people were picking the Sox to win the division before the season. In theory the Sox should be better than last year and the Yankees and Os should be worse based and roster additions/subtractions.

Devers probably needs to hit over .300 with 50+ HR and 120+ RBI to win MVP. It's not out of the realm of possibility but unlikely. Being full time DH will hurt him. He basically has to have an offensive season on par with Ohtani and Judge to win MVP.

That's exactly what I'm saying. What are the odds he suddenly steals 50 bases now that he's not wasting energy playing the field ? Maybe he can go 60/60

You would think somebody who just complained about being taken off the field would be jumping to get back on even if a different position. He just signed a 313 million contract to boot. Not a good example for the rest of team.

His pride is getting in the way but its hard to say what the better decision is as it can go great or go South. He's never played the position. I understand that he feels they screwed him out of his position with the Bregman signing but he doesn't run the team.

I'm assuming the Red Sox want to call someone up and they can't do that if Devers doesnt want to move to 1B. The have zero 1B prospects in the Top 30 and zero close to ready for The Show. The word on the street is signing free agent Antony Rizzo.

As a sox fan this whole saga has not been fun to watch, devers was supposed to be our "face of the franchise" now he is calling out the GM and the red sox as a whole (again!) In the middle of the season. Not a good look at all. If he was upset at any point he should be talking to the front office privately or requesting a trade in the off-season

Devers is ridiculous. i have been a boston fan since the mid 80s and just cant stand this guy. He signed a 300MM contract. now is the time to do what is best for the team. He already got his.

what a selfish, selfish primadonna. The team should be all about merit. a better defensive 3b comes in, devers should get moved. they need a 1b, devers should get moved. easy.

is it too late to sign Mookie to the big deal and let devers walk??
