On March 31st, eBay introduced a brand new optional PSA post-sale grading service for trading cards. We are excited to let you know that your selling account now includes this option on select listings. This value-added service is offered for trading cards over $250 (which already qualify for eBay’s Authenticity Guarantee program) immediately post-sale. We’re thrilled to introduce this enhancement to deepen buyer confidence, boost your listings’ appeal, and continue growing the hobby we all love.
Why This Matters By enabling buyers to purchase grading services from PSA directly on eBay, we are making grading trading cards easier than ever, eliminating multiple shipping steps and providing an exceptional customer experience. What’s Changing For You? absolutely Nothing! List and ship your eligible trading cards as you always have - there are no extra costs or added steps on your end. Seamless Post-Sale Grading When a buyer opts for PSA grading, your card will first be verified through eBay’s Authenticity Guarantee verification. Once authenticated, it will be sent to PSA for grading - at no cost to you. Final Sale Protection Any card authenticated and graded by PSA is considered final sale and cannot be returned, giving you extra peace of mind. Buyer Inquiries About Delivery If buyers ask when they can expect their graded card, please direct them to PSA’s Help and Support for the most accurate timeline. Thank You for Your Partnership We couldn’t be more grateful for everything you do to make eBay the best destination for trading cards. Your trust in us - and your dedication to the hobby - is what makes our marketplace thrive. If you have any questions or need support, please don’t hesitate to reach out to eBay Customer Service. We’re here to help! Thank you again, and here’s to continuing to grow the hobby! - The eBay Team |

I really don't understand people who have their cards graded without ever seeing them with their own eyes and holding it in-hand. I guess COMC does this too?

When does this go into effect, or did it already? Pretty major news…although I guess we all expected this eventually.
My first impression is the number of PSA slabbed cards out there goes up even more. Once comc started doing their PSA sub service, that increased the number of slabs big time. This will too, but to a lesser extent since only more expensive cards. I remember when PSA was just turning over the 100,000,000 card. It wasn’t that long ago. Now it’s at least past 107,000,000. It’s incredible how short it was for over 7,000,000 cards (assuming each cert# corresponds to a card graded, which I’m not 100% on). Next impression is I cant wait for buyers to complain that their raw card advertised as NM or better got an 8, and not a 9 or a 10. The good thing is it should be out of the sellers hands completely by then.

I'm pretty sure a partnership with a huge company like Ebay will now bottleneck PSA's grading turnarounds even more. I'm sure Ebay orders will get a bump in the queue and push retail orders back.
Not sure I like the idea of paying for a service without a close examination of said card. If Ebay wants to immediately improve the process, the authenticator can provide a "raw" opinion of the card and disclose any flaws before the buyer decides to purchase PSA services. In other words, if an authenticator deems a card to be in "probable mint" condition, then the buyer can make an informed decision on whether or not to grade it. |

Yea PSA doesn’t seem capable of keeping up with things as it is….cant imagine what this’ll do. I have COMC PSA submissions due back in Feb….crickets on those.
Hard to say how many will be added from this. eBay is enormous no doubt. But I feel like a decent chunk of cards $250+ are already slabbed? How many raw cards get sold for those amounts, and then on top of that the person would have to choose to grade it without inspecting it. I’m sure it’ll get a decent enough boost though and backlog PSA even more

0 friction in getting in graded. Check a box and wait. This will get a lot of clicks. Like others, how does this play into backlog.

For me it's mainly to save on sales tax. For example, I bought an expensive raw card recently - Wasn't exactly $500 but for math purposes let's say so. If I shipped it to NJ it's over $30 just in sales tax. Instead I shipped it to PWCC to save the $30+ and it's $25 for them to grade it through PSA. So essentially I save $5 and get it graded for free.
