Devin Williams needs single inning relief work far away from the 9th. He has sucked in every single appearance. Keeping him as closer is like lighting your lead on fire and flushing it down the toilet. Why in god's name would you not get him innings in lower leverage situations when you have Luke Weaver setting all time records as a reliever? Insane.

Except Randy Johnson was pretty good his first season there. He was the best full time starter on the staff his first year. Lead the team in Wins, Strikeouts, pitching WAR, innings pitched and had the lowest ERA of any pitcher on the team to throw at least 81 innings.

As good as Aaron Small and Chacon were that season they both pitched less innings with the Yankees than Tom Flash Gordon.

Glad I missed this one, hoping Devin Williams gets some middle innings to solve his problems, no way he deserves to pitch the 9th in a one run game. Boone did this crap with Holmes last year and cost them quite a few games. You would think he wouldn’t make the same mistake with a different pitcher but here we are.
