Panini just Announced New Patrick Mahomes Exclusive Auto Contract

Mahomes has to get through a rather dynamic AFC with Lamar Jackson, Joe Burrow, Josh Allen,Tua,Herbert and the young guns CJ Stroud, Bo Nix and whomever I missed, every single year. Then he has to get through whatever team the NFC throws at them. I'm not going to doubt him because of what he has accomplished in getting there but its not going to be a walk in the park. Mother Nature is undefeated.

He does all this almost every year, its part and parcel. It would be weird if he didn't.

Mahomes said he wants his kid to grow up in the locker room just like he did with his dad and his kids are young so Mahomes is not going anywhere. Approx 10 more seasons should be the expected imo.

Well, at least we haven't had the Dak auto-pen or the Messi brother/fam signing for him issues yet.

I would think that could happen at some point too with Brady or Mahomes as their autos get more rare and valued? We'll see.
The safest and most valued autos will probably be the early-career (Panini for 2PM, Topps for Brady) pack-pulled ones.

Not surprised, people buy the unlicensed Topps stuff not really a huge deal ”strategy” needed other than doing the same since you guys have shown you’ll eat it up.

If it becomes pretty affordable like their baseball people will buy it up as a chance to hit a Mahomes auto for cheap. For some reason unlicensed panini/Topps is cool while Leaf etc is not.

Trying to make as much money as they can before they go out. Looks like 4/1/26 is the official cutover. They're going to be running the presses so hard this season.

I honestly don't know what these contract say but we are here in April of 2025 and Topps is releasing 2024 material. It makes me wonder if, one year from now, Topps will release 2025 material BUT be allowed to use all the licensing.

I'd love to get a licensed Sapphire release. It's obviously coming eventually but I wonder if I have 1 year or 2 years to wait.

Sports Card Investor, as someone mentioned above. I think there's some gap between the NFL and NFLPA licenses though so who knows what we're actually going to see.

No idea on basketball.
