Gunther/McAfee is going to be a banger.

The build for Backlash is just so weird though since it's already like 10 days away. The Rollins stuff isn't working for me so far. His chemistry with Heyman isn't there at all. You could tell instantly Heyman had it with Brock, Roman and Punk. I actually can see it with Bron, but it's so forced with Seth.

I already feel sorry for Gunther. Losing your title to Jey Uso and now you have to wrestle an announcer? Pat should get in zero offense and Gunther should win in about 5 minutes after chopping the hell out of Pat, so of course they'll make it a competitive match which will make Gunther look terrible. Fingers crossed they dont have Gunther lose....

So Becky attacked Bayley? Ok, the only finish that makes sense at Backlash is Bayley coming out and distracting Becky which allows Lyra to win. And then Becky can go into a feud with Bayley which gets her away from any titles.

So we are a few months in now and what do we think about Dark State (AKA Shield 2.0) ?

Personally I find them uninspiring. Like many factions the majority of what they do are beat downs not a lot of actual wrestling. They do the flickering lights during the beat downs for a more dramatic effect I suppose but it just comes off mehhhhh.

They remind me more of Retribution, especially when they were doing backstage attacks and writing on the walls.

Didn't like that five years ago, don't like this new version either.

Not impressed by any of them. I think they should have had a semi established guy with them so you'd have one that was seen as the leader at least

So glad they kept the titles on Liv, knowing that she was going to be gone filming. I get that the women's tag division is a throw away division, but that's really poor writing. But also not surprising considering the way they have used various titles under HHH.

They've had the US title on Logan Paul and World Titles on Roman and Brock who never are on the show. I think we will survive without the Women's Tag Titles.

It's still poor and lazy writing.

And notice I said that I already understand it's a throw away division? It's stupid to have titles if you aren't going to build some storylines for them. For example, most of the mid cards titles. There's plenty of hours of show between Raw and SD to build stories for all of the titles.

If you believe PWInsider, Liv will be gone for a month or less. I like Liv and Raquel as a team, so I don't see any issue keeping irrelevant titles on them for Liv missing that length of time.

That's the biggest issue, irrelevant titles. They wouldn't be irrelevant if creative actually gave us some storylines. I agree Bron's IC title reign stunk. I actually think the men don't need an IC title and US title either at this point, either. (The women definitely would be fine with just 1 midcard title as well)

I agree that they could cut the number of titles on both sides. But since they aren't going to do that, maybe they should do a better job of highlighting the champions?

What they should realistically do is eliminate the brand separation for the women and have all 30ish in one pool. That's roughly the size of the pool for the men on Raw and SD and how many women are in NXT.

And agree to disagree on Lyra's performance on Monday. I can think of two others I would have put her ahead of from the night. And one was the person she'll be facing at Backlash.

It was funny they were pumping this part up saying how she was going to become Hollywood's next IT girl. A part as a kidnap victim in a movie that is probably going to be straight to on demand in the USA is not making her any kind of it girl. She pretty much got a Miz part in a movie.

Most of the releases that I have seen are on the corporate side and creative. But it is that time of year so you can probably expect some actual talent names to start dropping pretty soon.

Kai is a shocking one

Shayna is a big miss in my opinion. I remember they built her up so strongly. She literally won elimination chamber by single-handedly eliminating every single woman in the match. Then it seems like she got fed to Rousey and when Rousey left they just pushed Shayna to the side.
