2001 Ichiro Chirography Auto Pick-Up
I have been in love with the 2001 SP Authentic Chirography Ichiro Auto /100 for decades. When I first started collecting Ichiro (back in 2001-2002), I always told myself that I will get around to buying one later. Years later, the price kept creeping up and collectors were holding on to the card. I eventually got priced out and I accepted that I will probably never own one.
Back when Luka Doncic came out, I decided to buy a lot of his rookie cards. I held on to them.. then, Luka became a super star and his card prices went up. I met someone that decided to sell his 2001 SP Authentic Chirography Ichiro Auto and he lived about 3 hours away. He said he has had the card since it first came out. He just retired and he promised his wife he would sell some of his cards. He knew I was a huge Ichiro collector, so he wanted to sell it to me. I wanted this card so bad, I decided to sell 90% of my Luka Doncic collection. The seller said he was willing to wait until I have the funds. A month later, I finally sold enough cards to buy the Ichiro card. The seller happened to have plans in the Seattle area this weekend, so we finally met up to exchange the goods in person. I finally got the card and I am so happy to add this to my Ichiro collection! I just wanted to share my excitement with my fellow board members & friends here! Man, I really appreciate the love and kind words from everyone. This is now my favorite Ichiro rookie year card in my collection. I love the overall clean look with the big on-card signature.

Amazing story...gotta love when these things work out like that. The auto especially...2001 was NOTORIOUS for autos bubbling. This one looks CLEAN. Congrats!
