The Astros will lead to some weird inclusions if this is implemented. Both Don Wilson and Jim Umbricht had their numbers retired after they tragically passed young. It would lead to some fun fan faovrite inclusions as well as it would get us Jose Cruz Sr, Mike Scott, Larry Dierker & Jimmy Wynn. They would also need to do their second repeat retired player to get Nolan Ryan in with his retired Astros jersey .

I’ve said that anyone with dual retired numbers should get multiple cards…still expect Topps to break the rule for 1 team retired players eventually

There isn't a Crayola Astros uni yet, right? I'll take Alan Ashby to get one of those please.

This previously happened with Hank Aaron (46 and 755).

Ashby would be a fun inclusion!

You are right about not have that jersey yet. Bagwell, Biggio & Oswalt are the only retired Astros in the set and they all played after that jersey was shelved. It is crazy that as popular as the "tequila sunrise" jersey is they haven't picked a player to be able to include it yet. There are plenty of "Hall of Very Good" players from the 80s who would be worthy inclusions (since the HOFer Ryan was featured as a Ranger).

While it will most likely never happen, it would also be fun to see one player get represented as a Colt 45. Unfortunately there aren't very many good options. Jimmy Wynn did play for them but didn't become an everyday player until after the name change. Bob Aspromonte would probably the only player that really makes sense to do it for and I don't see him getting a card anytime soon (we might need to get into the 2000s card number wise for him to be considered).

I'm still getting the error in Safari and Chrome.

I reached out to Jared via his site, and he let me know his tech support is currently looking into the issue.

I just got the same error on Angel's site, too, so it must be an Artspan issue.

If it's all of Artspan I'm sure they'll get it fixed in the next day or two.

I didn’t know The Big Cat at all, do now. Great inclusion.

I mean it's a nickname from the 40s ... kinda cool the back of the card text mentions that, didn't see that at first. Either way, classic palyer, classic card, great artwork, in for this one!

I currently live in the same county Johnny Mize was born. He has a cool museum at one of the local colleges with lots of photos and memorabilia. I knew his name before I ever moved here, but never realized the local connection. I'm guessing this card will eventually be on display as well!? Also, not too far away(couple of counties over) is the Ty Cobb museum. He wasn't born there, but that's where he spent much of his life and where he is buried.

That's really cool, you should tell them about the card and the print so they can get one of each at cost from Topps.

Good idea. I sent an email shortly after I posted to the thread and If I don't hear back, I will probably get the card myself and take it over there when it arrives.

Both sites were fixed this morning and I was able to place my orders.

That's a cool idea!

Always fun to see how the collecting community gets involved in their local baseball community.

Would be a fun bundle to offer on the same week (hopefully this year)! Glad there's a real chance they'll both be in the set now.

That would be cool.

Pitch it to Topps to gauge their interest.
