ProfootballTalk claims Panini is paying $3 million to sign exclusively with them. According to a "source" of Mike Florio's.
This can't possibly be accurate, right? Why would Panini pay that for a 7th round pick QB? |

My guess - which I gladly admit is just a wild guess - is they are paying for both the autographs themselves PLUS extra for exclusivity.

Yeah it's definitely an exclusive deal, but $3 million for Quinn ewers still doesn't make any sense, unless they signed it two months ago and are just announcing it now.

Figure though they are taking gamble he becomes big and that any personal signings have to go thru them and they get a cut of those fees.

$3MM isn't a lot of money to Panini. If he pans out that contract will be worth A LOT more.

What are the chances of Tua getting hurt? Pretty good. And how hard will Wilson be to beat out? Not that hard. When/If he starts and produces, it will be worth the $ |

This is probably the reality. Would be shocked if they paid that much knowing he was a 7th round pick. It's much more likely that they signed him before the draft when they thought he'd be a day 2 pick.

That would be for 6 signings over 2 years. 3 private, 3 public. I charge the public $40 an auto. And plan on selling 250 tickets per event. That is $10K back X 3 = $30K I then sell his auto backstage to other dealers, for $20e And normally get 4 local dealers to pay for 50 sigs to get the discount. Sometimes they split that with another dealer, but makes no difference to me. That is another $4k x 3 = $12K Now I am at $42K back on my $50K guarantee. And have 3 signings to myself, to get stuff signed to then sell. And I am only in to each for $3K. If the player blows up, and I sell more stuff/tickets/charge more for each. I make decent money. If he sucks, and we dont get past the first couple signings. I lose. But the player still gets the $50K. Fanatics often sends their exclusive players to shows and such. And certainly sell backstage at each one. So that money gets split up pretty fast. And is not all out of pocket. Plus they sell their signed stuff for a premium. But if the guy stinks, they lose big. |

Agreed. I just think it was so deep a class that teams were willing to roll the dice and wait. I think it's one of the best picks of the draft. If he stays healthy he can be productive
