it will be interesting to see. I dont collect any modern, but I guess this years rookie class is pretty weak. I feel like modern unopened is driven by the current years rookies.

That stuff won't even be out by camp.

It's more the Jayden Daniels, Caleb Williams, Bo Nix, and then forward to Burrow, Allen, Hurts, Mahomes, and maybe Jackson that I'm interested in watching

Do you disagree that Brady will be the "mantle, ruth or jordan" of the football hobby looking forward? by looking forward, i mean the next 20 years, not 20 weeks.
He is for sure without a doubt the Ruth/Jordan of the NFL. People are trying to push Mahomes as GOAT status but amazing athletic ability doesn’t always translate into greatest of all time.

Of course? Second place it’s not even close, compared to a debate like baseball or basketball

I had a previous post about how Brady would still be the best even if you subtract everything Mahomes has done from brady, leaving Mahomes at 0 for everything

How come there's so much talk about Mahomes in the Brady thread but almost no talk of Brady in the Mahomes thread???

Lots of GOAT talk was in the Mahomes thread for a while… It just died after he lost to Philly.

Yeah, I mean, lots of Brock Purdy talk was in the Mahomes thread when they met in the Super Bowl a while back, but they're still not talking about Brock Purdy on every page in June.

See what I'm getting at?

That’s an easy one lol because why would they talk about him? He has less wins, rings, yards, touchdowns, etc not even close really. 0-2 post season to top it off. Just two games, but imagine if Mahomes was 2-0, there’d seriously be people calling Mahomes the best because of those two wins

He typically only gets mentioned here due to the fact of Mahomes in the goat conversation (like before the Philly SB if he wins or whatever) by others, no one here bringing up how they think he’s the best

Look at the last few pages of this thread... the most popular subject is Mahomes, and not a single picture of a Tom Brady cards (and barely any discussion on it). "Before the Philly SB" was 5 months ago.

I've been a Brady fan for about 16 years longer than I've been a Mahomes fan. Brady is the greatest player in the history of the NFL, maybe in all modern sports, and I CRINGE when I start to see his fans' behavior that starts to mimic the way LeBron lives in the head of so many Jordan fans and collectors.

It's okay to just live with the 7 Super Bowls and 700+ passing touchdowns that made Brady the GOAT and appreciate the guys playing for 2nd best. I'd rather keep the memories of Brady alive for the newer generations by talking about the great things he did, as opposed to going down as a bunch of old heads who puke over everything that makes them feel insecure about the guy who nobody is arguing isn't currently sitting as the GOAT.

Sounds like June to me lol I mean even though this is a Brady thread, hard to talk about just him. Pretty easy for anything to get off topic

I agree, 100%, that Brady is the GOAT. I cannot imagine Mahomes, or anyone else for that matter, playing long enough and well enough to really even get close. I can only speak for myself, but after awhile it gets tiring hearing people tout Patty as goat or even potential goat and I have to interject some sanity to arguments.

at this point, it is not close.

That’s what I meant by Mahomes being mentioned here. It’s many others on tv etc talking about Mahomes, and the ones here are saying he won’t be close, which he won’t

Which Brady RC you would suggest as a good future investment? My budget is around $500 or lower range.

In your price range I would consider either a Fleer Metal or a Bowman. both are in full Patriots uniform. Metal more rare, Bowman more iconic. both very nice cards.

I'm going to pick up a Fleer Metal. I saw one in person and they are nice looking cards. I think the Press Pass reflectors is also underrated. It's #'d to 500 and pretty cheap. Obviously not a Patriots uniform, but it still looks nice.

Here is a pic of some of mine. I had a lot more including the Bowman Chrome, but I consolidated quite a few into getting the Leaf Limited /50.

you have a great collection!!! that limited edition is fantastic. I would say it was worth consolidating. while bowman chrome is an iconic card, it is replaceable. not so with the limited edition. you can get a chrome 24/7 on ebay. I also have always loved the autographics. I will have to pick one of those up at some point.

Here is a recent pickup, an off ebay deal. This was the most difficult one I had left on the rookie list!! Very happy to have secured this one. When they do pop up on the bay, sellers want the moon for them.

Wow. I had never even see this one.

2000 was a cool era for cards. So many kinda oddball sets.

Anybody around here have every Brady base rookie card?

The Omega is a tough one. Numbered out of only 500. One quarter of toms rookies are from Pacific.

I dont have all 44 yet. I have 40, but currently have all the tough ones.
