Seriously, he buys only one case of Prizm and pulls maybe the second or third best card in the product -- of the player he happens to collect -- and he's still unsatisfied and wants to sell it off to get a card that's numbered higher. This guy called himself an idiot in the article, and I have to agree -- take the hint from god and be content with what you have, idiot.

Appears the inventory was broken up into multiple auctions.

This is par for the industry where scammers "seem to be more common than honest dealers.

God I hate this industry at times.

His personal IG has purchased followers. That's an instant red flag. Just looked and the first 4 random followers I clicked on have 1 or 2 followers and follow 700+.

Seems like a wonderful person.

Great hobby we have.

Nice, but either way it looks like it's local pickup only.

Sure is a thing.

Too easy to tell too. So this doofus has 64k folowers (or around there, I'm not looking again for the sake of my IG algo) and his posts have like 8 likes. The followers aren't real people.

Scammers frequently inflate their social media presence. There is a well-known scammer on Whatnot who used showbots to inflate his viewership, making him appear to be the most viewed breaker on Whatnot. It was quite obvious when he had 4000 viewers at 3am while the next highest was a little over 100.

Correct. They attempt to use followers/viewers to give the illusion of trustworthiness and legitimacy.

I feel like this had to be pointed out from the article..

"“At this point there isn’t a ton of expectation of getting our money back. His lawyer offered a payment plan, but it was for pennies, like $3,000 a week. I did not want him stringing me along again over the next few months.”"

$3000 a week? $12,000 a month? Pennies!!?? WTF lol. Sucks having to wait, but that's $156,000 in a year. If you're owed that, take that. Right or wrong, his options were apparently nothing (as dude has paid nothing) or a payment plan of $3000 a week. And he said "naaaaaah". Crazy.

I live in SA and have had a few dealings with him (never been to his shop). He's been MIA at most of the shows the last few months. "Legends" used to be a sponsor at all the local shows, so don't know if he's been banned or what.

This is a HUGE story in the local area and it gets worse and worse each breaking story on the local news.

It doesn’t seem like the victim was the sharpest guy either.

I felt the same way reading that, if you’ve got a viable solution, you get what you can get.

He's a con-man's wet dream; completely ignorant to the reality that surrounds him.

I remember talking with him a couple years ago at Sports Cards Plus. I had no idea who he was until I saw his picture on this thread though, but I definitely remember him because he acted like a gigantic douchebag and gave off really sleazy vibes. I had no idea he owned a card shop, or that his card shop even existed.

I'm sure he will get a slap on the wrist, rebrand, and be back at it again. This hobby is littered with people just like Rashad Aldridge.
