Economy sub just popped and was shipped at day 19.

10 card sub. 4 10’s; 2 9.5; 3 9’s and a 7.5. I missed something.

So I dropped of two orders at the ComicCon here. That was on the 22nd. One was a very small regular card order, the other bulk JSA. The regular one at economy (didn't get the 25 for bulk) is already back to me. Took them a week to get it done. No movement on the other, which I didn't expect to have yet anyways.

CGC seems to always hit their TAT or better. They are getting a lot more cards but their economy submissions are still 20 days. They have the trifecta, price, TAT and slab quality. Also Pristines, if you get them, our sell PSA 10 for ROI.

Tell that to the sportscard community. They need to get on some YouTube channels. Beckett still gets more name called than cgc.

I sent in a PSA 10 for crossover

wanted the slab to match my parallel run which is already only in CGC.

So yeah some of us are out here, some may say its crazy, but i guess I should make mention so one day it doesnt seem as crazy.

Lotta folks in the dark supporting the cgc brand.

There are a lot of people in the dark supporting all brands. If it is just about ROI, currently PSA for sports is the way to go because that is the company used by everyone for comps. I use 3 companies all for specific reasons. Most just stick with one, which is their right, but in the market that exist currently, by the time bulk orders get back from PSA the ROI could be similar to what you would get a couple months earlier with CGC. Most compare the current ROI to other companies while their cards sit in limbo. It is about margins. Most weee not around for the COVID backlog.

Well just to update this…submission I have that got there 4/24, is still just saying “Received” and nothing else after all this time. Granted it was a bulk tier 35 business day…and that 35th business day will be upcoming Thurs. So guess we’ll see if all these stages (scheduled, grading, encapsulation, scanning) get done in 4 business days.

I’m not much of a grader and a lot of this is new to me. I just expected to see something different than “Received” this late into the submission…what is even going on with this submission.

It likely will go very quick. The received seems to just be a place holder.

Default Running CGC (old CSG) Order Tracker

Thanks….yea Im hoping it’ll somehow update this week. I did contact CGC via phone. Also not sure why on the submission tracking page where it lists my submission invoices down the column….this one is just gray text. The other ones are hyperlinked where if you click it takes you to the invoice where it lists the cards (even for a sub that I sent in a full month after this one- that one is hyperlinked). But for this non-updating one, it’s just gray text. Is that fairly normal, does anyone know?

CGC’s response on the phone was along the lines of “cant look into anything until the 35th business day is officially up”…which is this Thurs or Fri. (Not gonna hold my breath the whole thing goes through all the stages in 3 days). Who knows maybe that can happen as posts above are saying…but I just have an odd feeling about this sub. Whatever CGC is doing…having no updates besides “Received” this far out is not a good way to do things. They should at least be making you aware it’s scheduled for grading or something.

I have an order they received on 5/7 that is not hyper linked. The submission is at the 21/22 business day mark. This is a TCG coin order.

Gotcha- thanks that’s good to know. I guess they don’t hyperlink them until the later stages sometimes.

That has been my experience. Until things go to scheduled for grading there is usually not a hyperlink. I actually have 2 not hyperlinked and one likely to be received today that I used the quick submit to test that feature.

Did yours ever update/get graded, the one above that was at 21/22 days? Wondering if CGC is behind right now or something.

Mine is at either 33 or 34/35 days and it still just says received with nothing else and no hyperlink. Really isn’t a great way CGC handles these- as a submitter there should be some record somewhere of the cards I submitted, but there is none. This was a mistake submitting this to CGC.

The 21/22 day one is still 15 business days away from when it is likely to be graded. It is only 6 coins. Bulk is now 40 days instead of 30 based on the site.

I see lots of value with CGC which reminds of SGC a few years ago prior to SGC gaining significant market share as a result of the PSA covid backlog.

I set up at card shows very single weekend and sell a lot of inventory on eBay. I'm not a big dealer or hot shot on either side of those selling marketplaces, but I know value when I see it. And as a big baseball prospector, it benefits me a great deal to be able to forecast and anticipate future value. There's a lot to like about CGC, and I think the market as a whole will catch up to valuing CGC as much as it should over the next couple of years.

CGC is dropping the ball on marketing and reaching out to sports card collectors, so hopefully they do better on that front moving forward. But in terms of pure quality and their trajectory, CGC is the best overall grading company behind PSA in my eyes, having overtaken SGC. PSA has so many quality control issues, slow turnaround times, and inconsistencies with their grading stardards, but despite all that, their resale value and market dominance is unmatched. And that's unlikely to change over the next decade. But I do think those of us who've been buying up CGC slabs will be rewarded in the not-too-distant future.

Agreed. Most people not connected to the hobby or message boards are just getting introduced to the CGC brand with their mystery slabs and gems for sports and their slabs are far superior to PSA. PSA slabs are still more liquid but I do TCG so give me a CGC over any of the others unless it is a crack and sub option. THAT is where the TAG ding report comes in.

Must be getting more demand. Next month's numbers is going to be interesting. I wonder which of these is causing a spike or a combo platter.

1. Picking up some sports card demand from SGC
2. Another big "Gems of the game" order
3. Continued deluge of Pokemon cards.

I may do another CGC order next month. I have a JSA order which should be coming in end of this month (hopefully).

I would say their Pokemon numbers are increasing. The SIR/IRs for modern would normally be sent bulk to PSA, but their TAT is over 3 months of business days. Value sinks fast. Cards need to come back faster and like myself, the Pristine Label is only surpassed by the Black Label. They also are getting a premium.

My bulk sub arrived 4/24, tomorrow is the 35th business day (which was the turnaround when order placed)….and yet it is still sitting as just “received”, with nothing else. These aren’t archaic cards that need researched or anything either, they are modern cards from a mainstream set from last year. Guess CGC gets through bulk orders that got there in mid May before even touching ones that got there in late April.

I have no idea what’s going on with this sub but the transparency and communication has been awful. To the point that I have to hope this sub was not lost by CGC. For a sub that got there on 4/24 with zero update since.

After multiple calls to CGC was finally able to get the order to at least hyperlink the invoice to a list of the cards (meaning the cards are verified), and it finally says “scheduled for grading” on the 35th business day of this bulk 35 day submission. I won’t be using bulk anymore with CGC…economy it is from now on.
