Some great pickups recently by everyone. Here's a card I got at the NTX Card Show this weekend in Frisco. Also picked up about a really good condition semistars that I'll post later.

May have overpaid a bit? But always happy to pick up vintage in person, can see the cards up close.

Here’s a couple vintage pickups this year. The Christy is just gorgeous.

Picked this one up for a very good price. I’m glad I was able to add it, as this my 1st Bowman card to add to my collection.

Where has everyone had the best luck with 1953 Topps? Instagram? Short print 220-280 seem to have wild listings on eBay without much best offer margin.

COMC may be a good place to look and you can put offers out.

Nice pickups, y'all.

Added a few cards to my low-end Jack Rudnay collection:

Local Chiefs legend who was one of the best centers during his playing days. Met him at the American Royal one time years ago - very cool guy, extremely humble.

IMO, that's the definition of collecting.

Great cards!

Very cool cards, Mahomie!

I'm a huge fan of 70s football. Since you're a Chiefs fan, I literally just had this card grade pop today on my SGC order:

Very nice! Card looks sharp as hell in that SGC slab.

I know some people find vintage a bit boring, and it does seem like many of us tend to focus on the investment pieces more (I'm guilty of that myself at times), but there have been so many great athletes with amazing stories over the years.

Just received this Toleteros Howard Easterling from the recent Hake's Auction. Easterling was a 5x Negro League All-Star during an 12 year career with the Cincinnati Tigers, Chicago American Giants, Homestead Grays, and New York Cubans. He's probably best known as the stalwart 3B for the powerhouse Homestead Grays of the late 30's and early 40's and usually batted 2nd in the lineup sandwiched between a quartet of Hall of Famers: Cool Papa Bell, Josh Gibson, Buck Leonard, and Jud Wilson. PSA, SGC, and CGC have graded 1 copy each.

Got this earlier this year and finally got it back today from Nolan Ryan’s foundation. Decided to add a couple of inscriptions to the auto order.

That Howard Easterling looks awesome! I’m not familiar with the set or even the player….
however as a collector of vintage cards & collects what ever appeals to myself
(as I’m not a specific player collector or set)
Thanks for posting and sharing the card.
congrats!

A few recent blurred pickups.
As a long time printer I enjoy collecting printing flaws that made it into packs.

1951 Bowman #64 Bill Werle
1971 Topps #510 Ken Harrelson
1968 Topps #129 Mickey Stanley

Mine has exploded this year as I got back into the hobby I started collecting in the mid 70's when I was a ball playing and loving kid. I completed a Yankee Captains chase with every one back to Clark Griffith and the pre Yankees New York Highlanders days. In that chase, I picked up a Sanella Ruth card and 2 Lou Gehrig Wheaties from 1935. I added T205's and T206's so that was my first time going down that rabbit hole! Willie Keeler was my final pickup. He can be an expensive one. My next chase will be the Top 10 of the 3,000 hit club. Cobb and Anson will be expensive but worth it. Along the journey, I learned a lot about both the game and the modern collecting hobby. Man has it changed! I stopped in about 93-94. My wife and I were poor and cards were not on my radar...until now.

He wasn't a Yankee but boy was I happy when I picked up ol John Wagner this year. So much so I borrowed the name for my account here!

And some Yankee Captains

I acquired these three cards in the past 10 days or so for under $5 total plus S/H.
The condition doesn't bother me for 70 plus year old cards. I like them.
1950, 51 and 55 Bowman's of Vic Raschi.
The same colored rendering used for both the 50 and 51.

Raschi served 3 years in the United States Army Air Corps as a physical education instructor.

Had a fantastic 132-66 career Win/Loss record from 1946 to 1955.

Grabbed a few Hall of Famers. That Langer RC is just one you never see.

Those are really unique and cool.

A card printed like that of Dock Ellis would be one of the coolest cards ever.
