Default PSA is grading comics & magazines starting next week!

This news seemed to somehow fly under the radar, and I couldn't find another thread.

Starting July 14, 2025, PSA will offer these new services:
  • Comic Book
 Authentication & Grading
  • Magazine
 Authentication & Grading
  • Comic Book & Magazine Pressing

That flip looks almost as bad as the Zeagley photoshop.

Label looks horrible. i don't think they will do much damage to CGC on the comic side, I guess they could gather up some market share on the magazine side. I really don't know what to think about it all.

I'm curious if they would be able to accept, authenticate, and grade autographs on a sports magazine? Dual magazine grade and auto grade.

Just give it time, if there is money to be made, they'll do it...

They started doing Funko Pops a couple years ago, first started with just the pop and then moved on to Pop + Auto...

Personal preference, especially with the price involved, I'd rather just get my Pops authenticated by JSA/Beckett and put it in an $8 hard case.

This is the final design there is also a new Gold label for PSA 10 comics. For some reference a PSA 10 in a comics would be like a BGS Black Label maybe pristine for Cards. A 10 graded comic does not typically happen often.

Until PSA can meet a simple reasonable turn around time, not damage cards, manage to make a correct label, not slab min size cards, stop grading a card a 6 then on a resub giving it a 10.......ect ect.......maybe they should hold off trying to make all that stuff worse by adding more services.

Default Thanks

Thanks for posting this - I am preparing to send in some Sports Illustrated for grading and was going to use CGC. Now, I will have to compare the two.

FYI PSA recently updated tats on Magazines and they are saying 75 business days. They claim the holders are delayed or something along those lines. CGC has also been very slow on Mags as well, so caveat emptor.

Averaging about 90 days at CGC on mags right now
