Is there any quick way of searching for Canadian sellers only

Because that seller has absolutely ZERO intention of putting the effort into picking/shipping an order that is only 6 cards for $1.20 that will be $.50 in PP fees.

I've set my shipping rates to discourage as many of those piddly orders as possible. Does it cost me sales? Yep. Does it cost me profit? Not really.

I've also "cracked down" on people placing multiple Budget orders from me on the same day. I cancel/refund them all and tell them to place the order to the box or pay for the appropriate shipping.

The site requires a seller to set one price for 5-10 cards - I can do 6 cards in a PWE, but more than that I've had issues with envelopes returned or postage due on the receiving end. So I ship anything over 4 cards in a BMWT. I dont charge $6 for that, but I am at $4.50, so I understand buyers balking. I have no issues with a buyer doing separate orders. The Paypal Charges can be an issue, but when I cancel an order the Paypal isn't refunded to me, so the seller that cancels these orders can really be costing himself money.

If there was an option for 5-6 amd 7-10, I would offer a PWE price for budget shipping up to 6 cards.

Curious if any other sellers have seen an uptick in Bowman Set Builders lately?

I've had bulk bowman junk listed for a long time and it rarely ever moves...but the last few weeks I've had SEVERAL 40-300 card orders for just bulk bowman singles from 2008-2020 from a lot of different accounts...

Enough that I've googled to try to find the source, thinking some influencer account has started lauding set-building or something...

Anyway, just curious if it is just me or if other have seen that trend as well...

Baseball Season, man - those are more than likely IP 'Graphers. They need to fill those books somehow!

Good question. I’m not a big seller, but I usually get about 40-50 orders per month. I had 2 the first couple days, and none since.

Lol.....

It's amazing people go out of their way to alienate potential customers then when their sales slow they act confused as to why

Nice Troll. Noone was alienated. My sales in June were just fine & made well past my postage changes. Try harder.

I'm from Canada so I can only maybe speak for a small portion of the users but here is my issue with Sportlots lately.

I did two large flat rate box orders from Sportlots in the past. I had probably 20-30 separate orders in each box, and while the final shipping rate was quite a bit more than it would actually cost to ship the box, it was reasonable enough that I didn't mind.

A few months ago I put about 150 cards in my cart from several different sellers and the projected shipping charge (Sportlots, not the sellers) was absurd. I can't remember the exact price but it ended up being about $0.75-$1.00 per card, and most of them were $0.20 TCPA base cards. I just backed out of the order and haven't bothered to go back to the site since.

Some of the other issues I've had is searching for vintage cards and most of the listings having no pictures, the search function being wonky, crazy prices on random cards, and the biggest frustration I had was having about 300 cards in a cart from a seller and them all disappearing because they set their store to vacation mode. A couple of hours of searching and adding down the drain.

I feel like Sportlots let COMC eat their lunch and between the site being tricky to navigate at times and all of the issues I listed above, I can't see myself using the site again.

I was wondering why it takes so long for cards to get to my box, and then I had a few with tracking information and noticed them being shown as delivered for weeks before I get a notification from SL that they're available.

I'm curious about this "crack down". If you set your shipping rates to cover costs why do you care? Shouldn't be different with two from the same buyer or two separate budget orders. If a buyer is buying a bunch of .20 cards and wants to spend $2-3 on PWE vs $4-5 for a bubble mailer I don't have an issue.

The Paypal fees on two separate orders are a downside (and a problem for small orders from a single seller in any event), but cancelling the orders doesn't refund those fees to the seller. If the seller has used other funds, this isn't even an issue.

By cancelling the orders you still pay both Paypal fees and don't move the cards.

Weeks???? We have been a little behind the past few weeks, but that would be 5-7 business days instead of 3-4 business days.. but not weeks.

If you can contact us directly on Sportlots with specific examples, please do so because if it has been multiple weeks between the time they were received and processed, I would like to know and address those specific examples.

Thanks!

We ship everything to Canada with customs forms and tracking. It is very expensive, but we have to do this the right way or overall there will be big problems with customs, especially in the environment that we are in right now. If we significantly over-estimated (which is possible), we will always credit back your Sportlots account.

You are correct, the vacation issue is a major issue and is being addressed with our rewrite of the shopping cart. There has been some major delays with the release of the new shopping cart (mainly due to scope creep and adding additional functionality to the release) but hoping it will be ready now in a couple months.

PayPal fees for sellers on smaller orders is also being addressed with the new release. Wont get into details on how we are addressing this here, but when we get closer to the release, I will be sending out details to all sellers. One of our big goals with this release is to reduce the PayPal transaction fees that sellers are paying.

That will be a plus! I’ve learned that it is just part of the model.

Unless there's a way to recover deleted messages, I can't give you any specifics. Once the order moves from "en route to box" to "in box" the tracking information no longer shows. Nothing I have en route right now has tracking information, but there are multiple cards that show filled dates between 6/19 - 6/25. This has happened more than once, so I'll save the tracking numbers going forward.

Ok.. So you are referring to the time that the seller fills an order to the time they actually ship the order to Sportlots? I thought you were referring to the time it takes Sportlots to ship your entire box order once you pay to have it shipped. Our goal is to have that shipped within 4 business days after payment. We don't always hit that goal based on volume, but we try our best.

Yes, we ask sellers to ship Box orders between 7-10 days after marking filled. Keep in mind that the reason you save on shipping is because sellers can combine many orders together into one shipment to send to Sportlots. This is how they save on shipping and pass that savings on to buyers. I realize that some sellers just don't get enough volume of orders and hold shipment even longer than 10 days to combine more orders, but that just gets to be too long for buyers to wait.

That's not what I'm saying. I had tracking info from a seller that showed delivered to Green Bay, and it was 2-3 weeks after that before I got a notification that it was in my box and available.

Please send the details to us directly, I will need the order ID(s), the tracking number(s) and the seller ID(s). You can do this via a message on this forum, but preferably through Sportlots by going to "Help/Contact Sportlots" and on the buyer section, select the "other questions" option. With this information, I can confirm when the order(s) were received and when they were processed.

The only way this would ever happen is when/if there was some sort of strange error that occurred, like an order was lost, seller combined multiple orders together in a package and we found out later or put in the wrong buyers box. This would for sure be an exception sort of situation. I could see this might happen for one order for you, but you said you had a few situations like this.. so if you can send me all of your examples, that would be great!

Thanks

This message is for "Sportlots".
There is an issue with the 2025 Topps Baseball on the site. After getting frustrated with the new site and how hard it is to navigate, I haven't tried to put an order together for over a year. Still not able to get to sets quickly, but I wanted to buy a few cards to finish several 2025 Topps sets, so I tried again. Not sure why the 2025 Topps set doesn't come up first, had to wade through 16 pages of inserts for the set, before finally getting to the actual set. One of the cards I was looking for was #498 Weston Wilson. He has 2 cards in the set #498 and #ALt-1. There is no listing for #Alt-1, that I could find. However, on card 498 there is a picture that shows the back of the card and it is #Alt-1. So, it looks like both cards are being loaded into #498 and not separately. Why? How do I know I will get #498, the card I need and not the Alt-1 card? They should be listed separately and not together. Let me know if it gets straightened out, maybe I'll check back next year.

Had a major fail on some auctions this week. I usually do ok on football, but must have no clue what sells in baseball. Listed 2 auctions and will lose money on both - one Featured unsold, and one went for 25 cents.

I auction TONS on SportLots, and there seems to be some slow times you kind of want to avoid listing (unless you KNOW certain buyers are active) - July-August is typically pretty bad due to Summer and the National, as well as January-February.

That being said, I have a few up - some sold at $0.25 but seems I timed others right with the right dudes being active.

I don't bid on Tons, but I do check every morning for Lots and Singles (I don't really bid on anything post-1965 or so, though)

Type in search bar "2025 Topps Base". This should get you to the base sets.

I haven't seen a 498 Wilson. Even the parallels have ALT-1 where the number should be. It's just an uncorrected error on Topps part.
